It's the high Res Meto model he basically says... Herts is going to get a dumping! :0

OMG not again — just on the eastern edge of where it goes from dark pink to light pink. I know this of old — watching the dark pink splodges drift by 3 miles away. I think I'd rather get nothing at all with no hope of anything.

Don't panic yet, that chart is for 3pm Sunday - The charts show we would have had about 12 hours snow by then!

Hi Yukichon :-)

No question more guaranteed to get different answers....all valid as guesses but none which will ultimately influence the outcome!

we could get snow turning to rain........or nothing much at all but remaining cold.......or a good dumping of snow. I hope it's the third, II worry it's the first...ut you know what? It could well be the second :)

Few showers getting going and wind direction looking good for the region so will be keeping my eye out this evening for some snow though similar looking scenario to yesterday. Things still looking good for the weekend, would love to see 5cm or so of snow with temps staying very cold.

Wow -3 already tonight, chances of -5 or -6 in some places across the region this evening.

this is looking more and more complicated. not happy to see the T72 FAX change the occlusion to a 'dyeing feature'. if the circulation at the triple point develops any further it could cause the whole feature to be further west. i wouldnt bank on anything at the moment. i think the ecm suite takes the snowfall a bit further east than the ukmo output. i think saturday will be a no snow day for the home counties unless the feature from the east delivers a surprise overnight friday (<20% chance). overnight into sunday morning is when we're supposed to see the snow move in. at the moment, i'd say a 50/50 chance that it doesnt arrive until around dawn sunday morning and if thats the case, there may not be that much of it left to drop. maybe best to expect a little and then it will be a nice surprise if you get a dumping.
