And not forgeting one our local weather men Steve M in Bexleyheath. Good to be back guys hers hoping the west don't get all our snow lol

If we get our North sea snow making machine up and running SQ we won't have to worry about the west, we'll have enough of our own! :help:

As much as I want to agree Yamkin we may have to wait a little longer as the easterly flow is quite slack to start with, depending which model you believe has got the pattern right. That's not to say we won't get one at some stage.

There's nothing like a bit of north sea snow convection! :yahoo:

UKMO & FAX are on the mark for me. GFS is catching up. ECM ??? I have friends in Bulgaria and they saw temps drop much lower than what the models suggested.

Steve Murr will be in faint mode at the moment. When he realises all of this is not a dream, we will get breath taking posts from him :D

I honestly think this is gonna be a cold spell that is going to be remebered for a long time

I am a newbie been interested in weather for years due to the fact I love the anticipation of snow and cold

I have learnt alot over the last three years on this site. Especially from some fantastic members on here

But some of the posts I have read in the last couple of days from the more experienced members really does remind me of my childhood in the 80s

Not like now when it snows for a few days then is gone by the weekend

Snow stayed down for weeks on end

And got replenished at night

I really do think this could be the start of a cold spell not seen for many years

Bet we don't get any snow....

i am thinking or infact expecting some convection to develop over the days as the severe cold sets in, its a flow that overtime will bring snow showers. Edited by ElectricSnowStorm

Yep agree with you there ESS I would be a little disappointed if we didn't.

Laura Tobin on BBC going for mild air trying to push across and although she did say where it hits the cold will produce snow but is this mild air going to scupper any cold plans?

NW Radar is showing a few light snow flurries around London. Not sure how accurate that is and I stress I expect they are blink and you miss it afairs.

Always nice to see Laura in the morning! :)

It's not forecast to come much further east than what she showed... :)

well the model thread is panicking.. looks like (what i think there talking about) is that another high has developed inside the big high pressure, and is going to chuck most of the cold n.west... nobody can understand it and everybody is waiting on somebody to explain it... if this is true and not a blip on the models.. we may as well talk about summer!! Hopefully this is a blip on the models and the later ones will revert back to carry on as you are.

All the way through next weekend potentially!

Whilst I wouldn't be as specific as these charts (remember they are just a guess really) the pattern is for almost a weeks worth of chances at the moment!!

Well any time really!!!
