Really? In my neck of the woods, the end of November 2010 was better than Feb 2009

Mind you, after this winter, 1cm would be enough for me!

And after viewing some of the model runs today it could get seriously cold by next week :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold: and with a little tweak here and there very snowy too.

Fingers crossed. :good:

Normal caveats apply of course :D

JP mentioned Thames Streamer earlier on. This will most probably occur as the convection from the North Sea in my opinion is going to open the flood gates to snow, snow and play it again Sam Snow :D I fully expect the models NOT to show the true Upper Temps. Trust me on this, we WILL get much colder Upper Temps than what the models are showing. This is one of the reasons why the MetO boys & girls are jumping around with excitement in Exeter :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:

I still remember February 1991, living in West Horndon. I measured 13 inches of level snow in the front garden after two and a half days of almost incessant heavy snow, even the rose bushes disappeared and we couldn't get the front door open... That's certainly the most in my memory. -5 daytime maxima in Central London and Icicles the size of Esther Rantzen's teeth hanging off the Black Cabs.

As much as I want to agree Yamkin we may have to wait a little longer as the easterly flow is quite slack to start with, depending which model you believe has got the pattern right. That's not to say we won't get one at some stage.

There's nothing like a bit of north sea snow convection! :yahoo:

there are some very cold runs on here

remember last night

people were saying winter is over etc

these are amazing :clapping:

Agree with that JP it's not the done deal but it would take a massive backtrack to not get an easterly and some very cold uppers over us. :cold:

I strongly urge everyone to spend £3.49 for a months subscription to the NW radar, it's the cost of a meal at macdonalds and tells you exactly when the snow is coming and how heavy it is. I've used it every year there has been snow potantial and it was great.....although not to sure work was happy with me using it instead of doing my job ;-)
