I had literally a minute of sleet about 8pm but now skies are clear and it's 0c

PS just to emphasise that the more likely snow threat is Monday. Latest UKMO-GM clear on this. As for first part of Feb, well..... a point of great interest now at UKMO! Ian

I think it's a matter of great interest here too as you can imagine! :)

I see checking met office regional they have improved graphics to show abit of snow sunday night and monday morning although I dare say that could change several times a day running up to the event which will almost certainly be a nail biting nowcast event I expect. ;)

Hello everyone hope you're all well. I have a very scientific way of knowing its getting colder and that's because my knees have started to ache! Always happens when the temperature drops lol! Good luck to everyone in the south over the coming days

Forecast I just saw on news 24 showed all our region (west country) in the snow band on monday, all uncertain as to it's exact location mind but that's what they're showing at the moment.

Ok, if the 18z comes off, I could be spending a long time on the m11... We are off to center parcs in Suffolk on Monday and the journey back to Reigate could be interesting...

This all seems to good to be true. After days of uncertainty, for the models to suddenly shift it's weird... But I'll take it!

John, that's a great fax! :)

I'm secretly hoping to get snowed in at center parcs! ;) still a way to go but as Ian says, it's the talk of the Met... Exciting times!

So could our 2012 feb winter be talked about for years to come

I certainly think it's gonna give a good try 

Hello Dancing Daisy!!! How the devil are you? Not sure if we'll get any snow here in sunny Portsmouth but if not, as we discussed last year I can always have a go at making some of my own in the bathroom with the shower on and the window open!

Nice one John

But is it going to be as snow less

As every one is saying

I can't see how

In these sort of setups most would see snow... Or would be very unlikely not to see it under -15 air!

Awww the good ole days :D Ello lovely!

Yes we will make our own snow using a bath, a shower head and an extractor fan. :drinks:

I can feel snow in my bones. Who needs the UKMO/fax charts/Grandma's cones....?

hello all

the conditions will be fine for snow from wednesday as the cold air

crosses the country

if the fronts to our east undercut the block

the south west could be the best spot

as the block moves further west it would put the south east

with a high chance of streamers popping up

very hard to predict snow but it all looks good at present

You're doing all right DD, you're doing all right.... I like this new forum, the central southern one was relatively quiet so it's nice to be joined together with the south easterners and westerners! Let's hope we have some snowy times to chat about, the met office outlook reads fairly well for us at the moment, it's quite weird to see southern areas progged to have the possibility of snow more so than the north but of course anything is possible! :good:
