The early morning drizzle and light rain cleared to the south by 0915 and the rest of the day was predominantly cloudy and dry with just a few sunny intervals and one or two very brief light showers.

Although the thermometer said it was relatively mild for January it certainly didn't feel it with a NW/W gale blowing for much of the day.

At 1800;

The highest temperature so far this year occured at around 11.30 when it reached 11.6c which ended up to be today's maximum.

It was very windy and mostly cloudy throughout the day, although there were some sunny spells through the afternoon.

Breezy and partly cloudy now, 8.1c.

Flew over the Great Lakes and Michigan after the winter storm today. A very nice sight. Now in Houston for the next couple of weeks, high tomorrow 77F (25C) 30% chance of thunderstorms.
