Wish I'd taken some photos today. Looks like an area of snow fell to quite low levels yesterday just south of the A66 near Dockray area - 200m or so, many places in this areas above 250m clung onto snow cover during today. Had uppers been a couple of degrees colder yesterday then many of the lakeland valleys would have been white today. Still the contrast of the deep white coating and browns and greens will have made for some fantastic photos today.

Sleety showers around Ripon earlier today, and some rain showers with a few blobs of sleet mixed in at Cleadon.

Brief sleety/snow shower here in Grimsby during last half hour, the first since 27th December 2010 believe it or not. Really hope to at least get a dusting this week but having watch the countyfile forecast i'm not so sure.

Yes we have some excellent conditions on the Lakeland mountains atm. Some substantial falls have occurred over the last few days, just a shame it's above 400m+.

I had a sleet shower late last night, it nearly counts as snow :p

Conditions weren't so good this morning after the moisture froze during the night, very slippery in places.

Happy to report that there has been a sneaky wee fall of snow here.

Feels bitter outside courtesy of the upper temps, lazy easterly flow delivering perfect grainy icing sugar dusting, perfect for freezing over as temps drop overnight.

Snow grains and occasional snow flakes falling for most of the morning and for a couple of hours into the afternoon, giving a thin dusting of snow by midday which then partially evaporated when the snow stopped.
