Look's like the warmth has been quite exceptional for parts of eastern and central USA this week, BBC weather have done a video:

http://www.bbc.co.uk.../feeds/17385110

Looks like some classic back-to-back days for chasing over central and southern Plains over the next 4 days :drinks:

Dont forget there should be loads of Live Streams tonight if you can tear yourself away from your Mothers Day's visits.

Chase Target would be Shamrock (Tx Panhandle) Today.

Expecting Very Large Hail as the Primary Threat but would not rule out a few decent Tornadoes as well before it goes Linear.

Texasstormchasers.com, Looks like they are on to something. Just watching the live stream

Nope just heavy rain I think, but I'm no expert.

they all seem to be tracking the wrong system, the one to the south looks far more promising from radar.

Plenty of chasers on tonights storms. Watching on the tornado videos live chase map at the moment. Some severe storms going up now, with a few warnings for severe thunderstorms and tornados

A plethora of chasers yesterday focusing around N Texas and W Oklahoma in hope of seeing a tornado. A few unconfirmed reports of touchdowns (probably funnel clouds) in that area but reports of large hail and damaging winds were definitely present. Tornadoes were reported in Nebraska and S Dakota http://www.nptelegra...9bb2963f4.html.

SPC give a Moderate risk and a 10% tornado chance around Central/N Texas including Dallas Metropolis into SE Oklahoma today.

Just had a quick look on youtube and seems there was at least one tornado in Mangum Oklahoma spotted by Jon Stone.

Reading through some of the American forums, it really kicked off in Nebraska last night after dark. A lot of damage in North Platte and a significant looking tornadic supercell passing through the wilderness near Valentine later on. This was all well North of the 2% tornado risk although still in the slight risk area for hail. Today looks like it could be very nasty if there is enough clearing and storm mode stays discrete for a while. Hodographs are nicely curved throughout the I35 corridor, so I'd imagine there'll be strong rotation embedded within any lines anyway but I would not be surprised to see a few strong tornadoes today, despite the lack of a hatched area

I've not seen as many chasers out as early as this for a long time.

I think there may be some serious action later on in the fort worth dallas area

Flash flood warnings for Oklahoma where the weather front has stalled for most of the day.

Upgraded warnings now from the NOAA - strong damaging wind, large hail and moderate potential for tornado activity for Texas, Arkansas and Missouri......

its going to be a long night!!

Looks like an active night ahead with the moderate risk out, a few severe thunderstorm warnings out just west of Dallas Fort Worth.

This is the worst kind of Moderate Risk Imho when you really have to luck out with an Embedded Supercell along the Line Segment, Storms are very grungy unless you are about 20-30 miles East of them photographing Shelf Clouds etc. You really need 1 Storm to push ahead of the Line (East Mover) as opposed to the SW-NE Train and hope it gets the job done before the line swallows it back up.

Best Luck we had with one of these was a few days after Greensburg near Medicine Lodge in Kansas when we got chased East by a Wedge Tornado (I am sure Nathan remembers this as he was the only 1 who got a Picture)

Getting back to today I would Set-Up around the Waco area as I believe the Storms will be more discrete down here and you do not have to get involved with the Metroplex of DFW.

theres a tornado warning further south,(directly westof Austin) but no chasers near it

denton sachs feed on severestudios seems to be a bit more reliable than jeromy's

http://www.severestu...n.sachs&uid=376

it looks as like most of the action may fall after night has taken over.

however, still a chance down the south near Llano..

fantastic lightning views with vortex chasershttp://content.wdtinc.com/popout/index.php?M=13192&C=20643&O=10427

This weather front is still producing the goods, as it has been for almost 4 days now.

localised severe flooding in many places and wind/hail reports all the time day or night.

It will be interesting to see what the small loop now forming behind brings to the table as well.

That loop has now become well defined and centered around Oklahoma City. One of the best cams today could be the WDT office which has some great cloud formations in its sights already.

The front is slowly moving west over South Louisiana and producing ocasional tornado's, but a lot of wind damage too.

Could be an interesting evening, might even take me away from the football!!

There are some stunning images coming from Donovan Gruner at the moment - I'm guessing I'm looking at a wall cloud...?
