Just got in after leaving work late.... Took the afternoon off today back on Monday looking at the models but still got kept back at work.... Looks like things are already well under way. Several confirmed tornadoes in Northern Alabama including one hitting an area devastated last year on 4/27...

Apparently Limestone Correctional Facility has been hit hard with multiple injuries. The prison was only just missed back in 2011 and there was some stunning video footage shot by some of the prison guards of the mile wide wedge. Seems they didn't get so lucky this time.

Really ?

His Icon is showing him North West of Paducah about 250 miles to the North West of Huntsville.

He must have a custom made Lear Jet this year :p

That cell had been prolific Claire, but it is moving rapidly out of the Warm Sector and into Dew Points around 40f soon.

Attention now is too the West of the High Risk and a Broken Line of Supercells moving ENE. The best one looks to be just North of Bloomfield (MO) At present and Reed and Co are in a perfect Intercept position with absolutely no need to move, this Supercell will move straight towards them in the next hour.

This will be a massive outbreak. Current radar in southern IL west of Evansville IN ...

http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=vwx&product=NCR&overlay=11101111&loop=no

There could be a Joplin or Xenia-1974 situation developing later today for some unfortunate city in the Midwest (and possibly more than one). Numerous long-track F3 to F5 tornadoes are likely. The forcing on this is intense and all the ingredients are firing. Current temperatures near 80 F in the warm sector, dew points up into mid 60s F, very high values for early March.

System has a similar map appearance to the worst all-time outbreak on March 18, 1925 (Tri-state tornado) and will likely affect roughly the same zone across IL, IN and OH as well as KY, TN, AL, MS and eastern AR, southeast MO.

U.S. media have given excellent general warnings in advance and I presume local media are all over the situation, where I live it's not possible to view these except on internet but watching CNN who have various resources on the ground that may come on live when warranted.

Bob Hartig reporting a strong tornado just north of Palmyra. Met him a couple of years ago on the Bowdle day and he's not one to over-exaggerate
