Heavy rain in Cork since early this morning, 10.3C the minimum overnight, currently 12.5C.

Got soaked walking into college, only to realise my 11am class is tomorrow, not today! A lot of surface water about and wouldn't be surprised if some flooding occurs. The wind sounds amazing though.

I was woken by heavy rain at 05.40 which was a heavy shower that the radar shows to have died out quickly after that time.

There was some mist/fog and then low cloud until around 09.00 since when it's been mostly sunny.

10.7c at present and sunny/breezy from the SW.

Gorgeous day here with plenty of sunshine after a cloudy morning.

Feeling very pleasant indeed and we've got the office windows wide open again with the sun flowing in. Feeling like I'm being charged up again!

12.2c the max. Happy to keep this weather!

The curse of October to February unfortunately... Luckily curtains were invented for just such issues!

However in the office I use bits of paper stuck on the window at the right position for my desk in the path the sun takes... So I keep having to shift them every few days (or in the case of recently after weeks as there's been no sun). Shutting the main blind means sitting in darkness for 4 months- not an option!

spot the days the sun shone competition!

Tuesday max=13.5

Wednesday-=8.4

Thursday=13.7

replies with a promise to keep to the thread title if you use the model thread will be considered!

my 2 moans about the sun, and one from you botty tut tut, yes I agree its a bloody nuisance being so low but on balance I would rather have it than not have it.

Spare a thought for our posters in the Northern Isels, I remember there it lasts for more months, some days in official winter it barely seemed to rise before it was setting again during my 12 months on Shetland.

Oh no complaints from me John about the sun - I don't mind it at all so long as I keep it from blinding me for hours on end (not so easy when facing directly south with big windows in front of me). I just prefer it to be high in the sky but if it can't do that - it can still shine as much as possible!
