Radar showing the next "surge" of heavier rain approaching Cornwall/Devon. Watching Sat24 makes it look like a train heading north, so some places could well see quite a downpour.

Edge of the tain is still 40miles to our west.

Just starting to rain after some warm sunshine through the morning and early afternoon. Quite odd to have a front arrive without a general increase in cloud before it, the sky here is quite clear to the E/NE and very dark to the S/SW.

Writing from a roasting scandinavian log cabin in North Yorkshire- it's been a beautiful day; satisfactory clear spells turning cloudier late on. We are expecting rain later; and into tomorrow morning. Currently 12c, high of 15c under a gusty SE wind.
