A fascinating start to the day with low cloud/mist moving quickly across Salisbury Plain and disippating as soon as it

left the hillside - this provided a lovely pinky purple haze at sunrise .

Clear blue sky and sunshine throughout so far and temperature rising at 22.1c with humidity 79% and a fresh SSE breeze.

We're up to 24.1C here with a dewpoint of 16.9C, very warm indeed for this time of the year.

The September record at this site is 27.1C set back in 1999. Id say theres a very good chance it might go this week. Temperatures are already higher than forecast. Hopefully the onshore breeze can keep off and allow it to happen.

Leeds Bradford registering one of the warmest UK temperatures at 24C.. this does not happen very often!

Currently sunny and almost cloudless, just one or two wisps of cirrus. The temp' is 21.0c with a 15 mph S breeze.

The September record temp' here is 25.3c in 2006 and I'll be surprised if that is beaten before the end of the month. October however has a record max' of 22.8c in 1985 and I would think that is seriously under threat on Saturday if the forecasts are correct. In fact the last time 20c was reached in October was in 1995 and I would think that particular statistic will be updated on the 1st.

This synoptic setup, with a SSW flow preventing sea breezes from developing, is the ideal setup for Cleadon as far as joining in with the general warmth/heat is concerned. 24.2C max so far, easily the warmest temperature that I've recorded during the last third of September, and wall-to-wall sunshine so far.

Think 24c is our max hit at about 2pm. Remember thermal peak is earlier than high summer. Typically I get my highest values around 4:30pm in the bulk of summer whereas now we are looking 2 to 3pm instead.
