Just a word of caution, from what I can see the 'Severe' risk is for tornadic potential coupled with large hail, doesn't necessarily mean tonnes of lightning and supercells etc... Looks like your average pulse-type storms with perhaps a heightened chance of a tornado and large hail in that area?

Had plenty of heavy, torrential showers here this morning, as of yet no T&L though!!

Suprised to see my area in the severe zone from UKASF! Would of thought it would of been a little further north!!

Nevertheless, a good day of radar watching to come, with just as reasonable chance as I have had all summer of finally catching something!!

Quite looking forward too today. Batteries are all charged! I'm thinking of going Newmarket way as there are some great vantage points near gazeley. The views are amazing!

PROB30 TEMPO 1715/1718 4000 +TSRA PROB40 TEMPO 1810/1812 4000 +SHRA BKN014CB for all London Airports.

Not likely today for the South East, more likely tomorrow lunchtime. However Biggin does have the following PROB40 TEMPO 1709/1718 24015G25KT 4000 +TSRAGR - but this is probably due to the location of the airport in relative to the ridge, giving some Orographic lifting as the front/trough goes through.

Not a bad thing, allows for warm sunshine and good heating and then hopefully things can take advantage of that when the

trough(s) arrive into the afternoon.

If nothing happens around here today, Im just gonna have to assume that its now impossible for a storm to hit Gloucester.

The main thing im worried about is what the forecaster on points west said last night "showers may not be so frequent or intense in places such as gloucestershire/bristol/bath area due to the welsh hills blocking them from the wind direction they are coming from. I hope they are wrong whistling.gif

That was for tomorrow though when the wind turns more northwesterly. Today it's of a westerly direction so they're all rattling in off the Channel.

Plenty of heavy showers across Ireland today, hopefully I'll catch something here.

Here's a pic taken in N. Ireland yesterday evening
