Maxed out at 14.0C at Durham Uni. today - a more dreich day than such with the cloudy high in full flow, little wind, and a bit mild at times, but the chill remains - 12.9C at 1700 and medium or low level cloud - an aptly disappointing end to a disappointing summer - bring on the short days and frosty nights!

Today has summed up this summer: dry, cool, cloudy with a nagging breeze. Todays' maximum temperature was 18.2C- not too great for this time of year.

A rather cloudy start before it brightened up nicely sunny spells in the 12-4pm time frame, Rather cloudy thereafter, but signs of brightening up again, Warm in the sun, and with little breeze not too bad when cloudy. 19c here as well.

As others have said summing up summer quite nicely.

Dry and cloudy all day at Cleadon with a max of 14.7C (the lowest of the month) following a min of 10.3. Nothing else to report other than the usual player on dry cloudy days (the inevitable stratocumulus sheet).

Damn! it's so cold tonight, i haven't got a clue what the temperature is tonight, but there's a smell of frost in the air much like last night.

It feels more like november than the last night of summer, I wouldn't be surprised if we get our first air forst middle of this month.

Feels so unnaturally cold tonight!
