Showers during the night but quiet with Cu, Sc and St at the moment. Wind virtually calm with a temp of 12C. Forgot to mention there is a severe weather warning out for the south west.Showers will become slow-moving, heavy and thundery across parts of Wales and southwest England today. The public should be aware of the possibility of local surface water flooding.

Looks like another thunderstorm is brewing up over Tonyrefail again today.

We had one yesterday which I would normally have enjoyed, however as I was out running at the top of a mountain, surrounded by trees and soaking wet, I did feel slightly vulnerable with the thunder cracking directly overhead!!!

North Hampshire, West Berkshire and South Oxfordshire have just had the ultimate pummeling according to radar!

Here it's raining for a while after a stop start drizzly morning. Cooler air from the NW arriving tonight and tomorrow, so hopefully a slightly fresher situation this weekend and Monday.

Bands of rain and scattered heavy showers around Britain today - maxima will be mightily surpressed.

We missed the worst of the showers overnight and this morning was dry with some sunshine but mostly cloudy.

This afternoon we have seen some showers, with one around 5pm at the supermarket with torrential rain, which would give localized flooding if it continued for a period of time. Back home it appears the worst of the rain is very slightly further east. There are some black clouds nearby and from the top of the hill you could see the clouds going right down to the ground, indicating the heavy rain. Temps around 16c
