Not looking good here today on the first day of a supposed stormy week,Grey and overcast skies no sign of the sun and feels alot cooler than yesterday,Seems we are set to miss out today but tomorrow looks better,Good luck all.

The warmer, more humid air is spreading northwards and westwards throughout the day.

You're currently under a decaying occlusion (if the FAX chart is accurate)...muggier air should start filtering through later.

Sun is out here and its warming up nicely. Humid air hasn't made its presence felt yet though

My storm risk has increased for today :) Even tomorrow and Wednesday's looking good. It's gonna be a good few days I reckon.:D

The sun is out now breaking the clouds away, it's eyes to the skies from now on Yay.

Jane don't say that! You're gonna jinx it! :(

Well if it's all about potential then we have a lot going for us at the moment. Certainly not writing it off and watching with interest!

Shhhushhh, we'll be fine. How about I try reverse psychology ? maybe that will help :D

Within the next few days there will be No storms for anyone, so don't go setting your cameras up and preparing for one because it just won't happen OK ....

Do you think that'll work now. :winky:

I for one am keeping most of my attention on the low forecast to swing up across France tomorrow...it is this low responsible for the whole of Spain under LVLs 1 and 2 today. On its present track it's going to take any chance of imports east. If however it tracks more northerly than northeasterly then it could be interesting indeed.

From an imby perspective, charts aren't that great IMO, but then with such changeable synoptics at the moment, it's times like this I (and many others) turn out pleasantly surprised :D

Hopefully the Pennine shield will be deactivated today and us in the central 'spine' of the country can finally see the elusive storms. Having missed out on almost a year's worth of activity now. Doesn't help having a s1600 Camera waiting for days like these to test out exposure images. Only for the cores to be spitting out lightning strikes 25 miles away instead.

Still..fingers crossed.

Yes, I'm pretty much as central as you can get and I haven't had a good storm in years.

Sigh.

I remember the good old days of warning us of all nighters. Love the old school symbols.

I wouldn't be getting my hopes up this week at all to be honest.

Dew points on the rise still, 15.4 DgC in Eastbourne and that's with the effects of a cooler coast.

I already have! :yahoo:

That's about all we get nowadays haha. Warm and humid in the southeast with thunderstorms. Cloudy with rain everywhere else.

The humidity has really risen sharply in the last hour or two!

Dewpoints aside, it's now beginning to feel marginally oppressive.

Based on the 1200 temperature readings, I'm thinking a 29C is possible today somewhere in the SE...

Highest MetO readings currently (at 1200):

Gravesend - 26.8C

Charlwood - 26.3C

Heathrow - 26.3C

Had a bit of rain here and breeze has got up. Making it feel slightly fresher compared to the way it was earlier

24.8C here, 57% humidity, Dewpoint 15.8 and I am finding it unbearable! For some odd reason my weatherstation icons today are clouds and rain but the sky is a gorgeous blue with just whispy white clouds & contrails in it
