A dry and cloudy day, although the cloud did break at times during the late afternoon allowing a few brief glimpses of sunshine. No completely sunless days this month and assuming that tomorrow and Sunday have some sunshine it will be the first July since 2006 with no sunless days.

A max of 21.5C today with more or less wall to wall sunshine. Pretty impressive after a forecast of clouding over. Apart from the blip yesterday the weather this week (and most of last week) has been very, very good. I appreciate that it hasn't been so good for others, but unfortunately that's the way things happen.

After an overcast night with light drizzle it has been a mostly cloudy but dry day with occasional bright spells. In contrast to Thursday when it reached 23.0°C it felt notably cool, especially in the breeze.
