Not a bad evening here, with the sun breaking through at times, after drawing the short straw earlier on and yesterday. The temperature made it all the way up to 16C.

Some super tropical downpours this afternoon. I'm loving it, I was so desperate for just a shower of rain 6 weeks ago.

We're under almost black cloud yet on the horizon a few miles away, I can see the hills in bright evening sunshine. Weird.

Edit: more thunder like yesterday pm.

A very good example of the rain shadow effect we got 1.8 mm of rain.

Anyway today much better than forecast but still didn't feel like July more like late September.

Light showers of drizzle giving way to a dry pleasant evening with sunny spells.

Max temp 16.8c

rainfall 0.4 mm since midnight

wind f2 Westerly.

Some very poor weather around the UK today...not here. A maximum of 21C (1.4C above average) with only a few spots of rain and huge amounts of sunshine. So much for the BBC forecast of cool and showery, although they did forecast 20C here. Maybe they don't realise just how rubbish our weather normally is?! :unknw:

I've been round and about the Somerset coast today and my temperature gauge has not risen above 15 C. Very blustery and dull on Burnham sea front with unhappy holidaymakers wandering aimlessly. I have my pullover on. dry.gif

Sun finally made an appearance here at 7.00 pm.

Another dissapointingly dull cool summers day. We saw light showers on and off with very little brightness. Tomorrow looks a carbon copy with gloomy conditions prevailing.

A little sun to continue the sequence but cloudy of the vast majority of the day, with some showers from time to time, Uninspiring to say the least. Max temp a very disappointing 14c. Rainfall according to radar around 5-6mm.
