The night has been cloudy with a few spots of light rain. After a dry and cloudy start, light to moderate showers broke out in this area around 06:30 GMT. At observation, sunny spells, showers in vicinity. There were further blustery showers across the area throughout the day; some were heavy, though this station on saw a few heavy spots. There were also some pleasant sunny interludes.

There were some torrential showers late evening and overnight leaving me with 30mm in my gauge by this morning! That amount

of rain was certainly unexpected and unforecast in this region.

But as with daytime yesterday, it's a fine summer day with plenty of warm sunshine after a cloudy start. There's a brisk WSW

wind with the current temperature 18.9c and humidity 71%.

I went storm chasing a "storm" near Ashbourne and the thing died out as I caught up with it.

[Terminal Moraine]

A couple of light showers between 0800 and 0900 g.m.t then the rest of the morning was dry with sunny intervals.

The heaviest shower of the day was between 1140 and 1155 g.m.t and there were several other short and fairly heavy showers during the afternoon. Thunder was heard to the south west between 1400 and 1420 g.m.t and there was a thunderstorm about 10 miles to the south east at 1800 g.m.t.
