Quite surprised the MetO radar only shows greens and yellows over the London region in the past hour.

The rainfall has been torrential in every sense of the word....odd!

There were some torrential showers late evening and overnight leaving me with 30mm in my gauge by this morning! That amount

of rain was certainly unexpected and unforecast in this region.

Quite surprised the MetO radar only shows greens and yellows over the London region in the past hour.

It only updates every half hour though, can you access the NW radar to see the 5 minute updates? Of course, as I alluded to a while ago,

that still doesn't guarantee the heaviest rain being shown up if it happens in the in between time!

Another line of downpurs has developed through inland Devon and Somerset/Bath/Wiltshire recently so eyes to that for this area through the

afternoon to see if it can affect the current fine warm sunshine.

More likely though is that it, too, will affect a relatively narrow strip of the country but will perhaps stetch NNE into Gloucestershire.

That was somebody moving their wheelie bin. If you have to question it then it ain't a thunderstorm.

The latest radar (and sky) update shows that the showers are finally inching eastwards over to Cleadon.

Absolutly tipping down in Bristol, roads flooding wouldn't be suprised to hear thunder.

Some sferics to the south west of us on the radar so we might get some rumbles

Haven't heard any thunder yet in Cleadon but have just had a torrential downpour with pools of water running down the streets- it'll be interesting to see what rainfall intensity I get from my rain gauge.

that's not fair thunder in Preston I got that cell and it was just a torrential downpour with no thunder! There seems to be a streemer of showers passing my location now though.

Very nice Neil!

Seems to be panning out pretty much as the information to hand this morning. Lots of rain, heavy at times and in places with a bit of thunder and some blustery moments. All we need is a bit more electricity later in the evening :pardon:
