Fine start to the day but convective clouds are building up quickly to the west and southwest of us in Malvern. Can see them gathering across Herefordshire as I type and coming westwards towards us. Could potentially give us some showers in a couple of hours if they continue to build.

Currently 14.2oC, humidity at 73%.

Pleasant day again. Cool when cloudy but feeling warm in the sunny spells. 16c currently.

Exceptionally dry first 6 months of the year in Coventry and Warwickshire. Still not quite reached 200mm, if this were to project ahead then 2011 would be the driest year on record- cue monsoonal rains July onwards!

For the record Coventry's driest year in its 145 year rainfall record is 1921 with 443mm.

That really will take some beating, as only one other, 1996 with 481mm, has been below 500mm, although several have been just over the 500 mark, including 1975 having 509mm. That's the recent standard then.

In contrast, here in damp west Wales, we are currently on 487mm, possibly more than Coventry will receive for the whole year!

Dry with sunny intervals and just a light-moderate breeze at Cleadon, quite pleasant outside, some well-scattered showers dotted around but Cleadon missed them all.

Maximum temperature 19.2C following an overnight minimum of 9.6C.

The summer is turning out better than i thought to be honest, very dry here in warwickshire with lots of sunshine(sunshine figures are above average)

Some people are chasing the unsettled weather when its obvious its being pushed back and even charts that didn't look great at face value for June so far didnt deliver much rain at all here and it turned out warm and sunny, you dont need HP to our east for weeks on end and very warm 850's to get very warm weather in the summer, its like winter though i guess where if its not showing a cold armageddon after December it automatically means its a poor winter when everyone else outside of the forums is saying it was a cold winter.
