Lol a very good article.

However its a real shame that these "forecasters" dont brave the real world and not the one on a computer.

To actually explain how they and why make these fairy tale forecasts and why they bother ( apart from likes and hits) and its a shame they cant be pulled, fined and imprisoned.

To be honest the over the top scare mongering that comes out of some papers not just every now and again needs to be roped in by laws.
A forecast that goes wrong is how the weather is, but maybe the laws should fine the papers as opposed to the people writing the stupid forecasts.

Stories like the hottest ever spring when spring finishes in 2 weeks or less is just mind blowing.

Well, since the 'extremely far-right' look like winning an election in Austria - who knows what'll find its way into the candles of the future?:shok:

They should change '100 days of snow' to '100 minutes of summer'

And that would still be a mockery of a forecast.

'bedford gets biggest thunderstorm to date'

Research has shown that weather related front pages actually increase the sales of this ..ahem....'newspaper.' No idea why, as none of their predictions have been correct, I guess readers have short memories. But the headlines have to be attention grabbing, which for the Express means misquoting everyone and to be quite frank, making stuff up and using dubious sources for their weather stories allegedly, let's face it, a realistic headline of Possible Drizzle Ahead This Weekend, will not boost sales.

Nice cut and paste by N.Rao on a weekend, issued Sunday, really confusing "today Monday, Sunday " going on

Nice work if you can get it

No mention of who said month's worth of rain in one day,

Mr Nathan Rao is at it again:

http://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/681249/Summer-weather-UK-tropical-blast-temperature-rising-28C-heatwave

28c? I don't remember anyone forecasting that. Their good friend James Madden is also chucked in and quoted for good measure:

James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, said sun-starved Britons can look forward to the hottest spell the year so far.

He said: “Many models are becoming more consistent with a pattern change to dominant high pressure into the final third of the June that will bring a surge in temperatures.

Be warned however this drastic change in temperature could trigger storms later in the week

“All in all, we are now only days away from our next heat wave that is likely to bring the hottest temperatures of the year.”

Oh dear, oh dear. How does this clown get into any newspaper? I know the Express is only really good for starting a fire, but come on...

Apparently, there's a scare story doing the rounds that says that the NH polar jet has moved to the Southern Hemisphere, and that this will bring about fire, brimstone and plague...or something.  Fortunately, some media outlets are doing their job:

It was propagated by 2 climate bloggers, neither of whom are experts (clearly), who are known for blowing things out of proportion on occasion.
One of those occasions where people too eager to "inform" the world of the dangers of climate change jump the gun and ultimately end up justifying the term "alarmist". Thankfully they were debunked by some actual experts.

They got things so wrong it's actually quite funny.
