We use our own solar methodology and forecast systems to produce these unique weather charts, which will forecast accurate weather conditions and solar periods for up to 30 days ahead for the UK and Ireland. More often than not, our long and short range forecasts differ to those of conventional meteorology until they adjust their outlooks nearer the time, and these projections will have already been incorporated within our 30 day ahead weather charts and made available to full subscribers of Exacta Weather Extra to get you ahead of the weather.

I tell you what James Madden, if your watching, we will get together an army of subscribers on here, club together and all chip in 10 or 20 quid each and pay you a lump sum of thousands of pounds in total - in early January, provided one thing, that that chart actually verifies!!!!

I wonder if he'll leave those same charts on the home page come 5th Jan when it's 11c, grey and drizzling?

If those charts do verify - I'll subscribe regardless of the discount - cant say fairer than that can I?

James Madden - see you on 5th Jan 2015.

That's only in the summer.

In winter we get record breaking cold and record breaking snow instead.  Record breaking gales are also mostly in winter but can be forecast in spring and autumn too.

However record breaking floods are forecast all year round.

After all those headlines about major freezes (worst winter in a century, heavy snow for months to name a few) the Express are now telling us we are going to have 2 days of Spring oh and the 'experts' are still undecided over a white Christmas even though it was odds on just 10 days ago

Exacta weather forecaster James Madden told The Sun a "colossal" area of cold water will affect the Gulf Stream and leave Britain exposed to freezing Siberian winds.

Today we have

James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, said: “A slightly milder blip will develop around the middle part of the week for a number of days, and this could see temperatures returning to double figures in parts of the south.

“However, this will be very short-lived, and by the end of the week we are likely to see much colder conditions filtering in across many parts of the country once again.

“These colder conditions will also be accompanied by some further snow/wintry showers in parts of the north to begin with, although there is the potential for these to become more widespread across other parts of the country as we progress towards the end of the week.

“On current indications, there is an increased likelihood of an official white Christmas occurring this year is some places, or at the very least there will be some lying snow on the ground in places.â€

Not sure Mr Madden is putting the same emphasis on things as he was less than two days earlier.....and what the hell is he doing talking to the Sun!!!!   Surely himself and the Express go together like cowdung and bullsh..... Edited by Timmytour

just been watching britains wildest weather on ch4, it was more like a propaganda show for global warming and climate change, and the seas 4c warmer  than normal? really , what tosh  or did they mean degrees F

It started ok but it got more and more......"warm" as time went on! The seas were almost 4'c warmer than normal for a few weeks (mainly the English Channel) but in 2010 they were around 4'c colder than normal.

It annoyed me because they didn't say that they were briefly 4'c warmer and then slowly slipped closer to average (although 1-2'c above still for a time).

Like a lot of weather and climate related programs on tv now they neglect to show the "other side' and that things are quite well balanced out ie. if somewhere is warmer than average, another place is colder than average etc, and this is what peees me off :nonono:

Well it was a program about UK weather I guess, and we are experiencing the warmest year out of the past 350 years for the third time in less than a decade..

Yes, we haven't experienced anything like this since the MWP.

Of course we got warm records broken, now there are no auxiliary weather stations that are manually operated, they can say what they like as few people will see what information has been collected. Anyone can make numbers say what they want them to say.

I for one am glad we had the same technology 350 years ago to measure temperature and to collect all the data if not the whole global warming thing would be open to scepticism

Away from Mad forecasts

there was a piece on Radio 4 this morning about this

How scientists studying golden winged warblers in the US noticed they left their breeding ground well before a major storm hit and then returned when the coast was clear. Will storm chasers just have to go the opposite way to a GW warbler?

nobody's doubting gordon manleys work probably knew more about the weather than everyone in the netweather community put together BUT i still believe if we had the same technology back then as we have now there wouldn't be as much emphasis put on global warming as there is just now

No-Snow Area: Alpine Slopes 'Worst For 25 Years'

A lack of snow in the Alps has left some ski resorts facing the worst conditions seen in the past quarter century, a leading industry representative has said. French Mountains, which promotes mountain tourism in France, this week said only 40 of some 200 skiing stations were open across the country. The hardest-hit area has been the northern Alps - home to popular resorts including Val Thorens, Courchevel and Meribel - where resorts have been forced to keep pistes closed and even ration ski passes. In the Trois Vallees - the largest ski area in the world - only around a third of the 3,700 miles (6,000km) of runs have been opened to skiers

Resort webcams show skiers trying to make the best of poor conditions, making their way down slopes that have almost more patches of green than white. Pierre Lestas, president of Domaines Skiables de France, the industry body for ski resort operators, told French news network BFMTV: "The situation is difficult in Haute-Savoie. We haven't seen this since 1988-89." French weather forecasters say such light snowfall is seen only once every five to 10 years, with the last comparable season coming in 2006. The lack of snow has been compounded by unseasonably warm temperatures preventing the use of artificial snow cannons, which are only effective at -2C or lower. The conditions could result in a 20%-30% drop in revenues for ski resorts over the Christmas period, Mr Lestas told BFMTV.

One resort in the region that has been lucky enough to have snow is imposing quotas this weekend to prevent chaos at its ski lifts. "Conditions are exceptional. As we are nearly the only station open in the Haute-Savoie region, we are expecting serious crowds," said Stephane Lerendu, director of the tourism office at the Avoriaz ski station. Located at an altitude of 1,800m (6,000ft), Avoriaz has been able to open most of its pistes, but the regional snow drought could lead to more than the resort's capacity of 12,000 skiers hitting the slopes. Holidaymakers will be issued with priority ski passes, while a quota will apply to everyone else until neighbouring areas have enough snow to open. Austria and Switzerland, which along with France are home to some of Europe's most coveted ski slopes, are also waiting anxiously for snow as the key Christmas holiday season arrives.
