Hmmmm, maybe the express readers also read the Mirror.

Now let me see, who do I believe. obviously they are both well trusted purveyors of current news and events...

That looks like pure speculation to me.

I'll be placing much more faith in GP's forecast later this month, at least that will be backed up with some science.

Did anyone else drop to the floor laughing when they read this?

LOL:

Next week will see a brief taste of things to come with a mini heatwave in the South. And even parts of the North, which have seen up to two inches of snow fall this month

I could predict summer temps of reaching a whopping 80f at some point during July/August, the Express would be better coming to me for their forecasts than that clown.

Is It A Bird, Is It A Plane? No, It's The Sun!

After one of the soggiest springs in living memory, warm and sunny weather is finally heading our way.

This week could see temperatures climbing to a balmy 25C this week, right on cue for the Chelsea Flower Show.

"It is too far ahead to give details for the Diamond Jubilee weekend, however the general theme for early June is currently a fine one," Lang added.

“Temperatures are looking near average or even warmer and there will be some good, clear sunny spells.â€

Although the entire UK can look forward to several days of summer-like weather it is due to turn again by the start of next week.

The miserable weather could hold out until the middle of next month meaning showers could dampen Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The latest turn in the topsy-turvy weather comes as Britain shivers in one of the coldest Mays in 353 years.

Met Office figures show central England temperatures average just 9.5C so far this month, 1.2C colder than normal.

'One of the coldest' in 353 years? What does that mean? Or is the '353' only there for dramatic effect? 1.2C down is not all that extraordinary...for half a month.

RED-HOT SUMMER TO BREAK RECORDS

BRITAIN is on course for the hottest summer for almost a decade, forecasters said last night. Temperatures are set to soar from today and Britain’s all-time record of 101.3F (38.5C), reached in 2003, could be broken in weeks. The mercury began to rise yesterday and is expected to hit 81F in places today and tomorrow, making them the hottest days of the year so far.

Netweather predicted highs of up to 81F today with the UK on track to put parts of Greece and Malta, at just 72F, to shame. It said in a statement: “We should see more in the way of sunshine develop for most areas over the next few days and temperatures will respond too.†According to Weather Services International, a “pressure blocking†system which caused recent summers to be cool and wet has now moved away.

“We expect a summer pattern more like 2002-06, with above normal temperatures.†Jonathan Powell, forecaster with Vantage Weather Services, said summer would see “spikes†of extreme hot weather. He said: “There are going to be some very hot periods of weather as summer kicks in.

If this was to happen this summer (or any summer for that matter!) it would be unlikely to occur before mid-July.

HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR AND MORE TO COME...

IT may have taken its time to arrive, but summer has made a scorching comeback – with this week’s temperatures predicted to soar to 86F (30C).

Forecasters even believe we are on course for the hottest summer in a decade – set to smash the all-time record of 101.3F reached in 2003.

Mini Heatwave Here To Stay - For A While Anyway

Weather experts are predicting the hottest day of the year so far as temperatures continue to soar across Britain. And the good news is the mini-heatwave is set to continue for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Summer finally arrived in Britain on Tuesday, the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching a sweltering 27C.

Sun-starved Brits flocked to the parks and beaches, while visitors to Chelsea Flower Show basked in the glorious sunshine. The blue skies helped banish the rainy day gloom of the past few weeks.

Sky News weather producer Chris England said most places in the UK will continue to enjoy the warm spell for the rest of the week into Saturday and Sunday.

It may become a little more unsettled next week, but that is a long way away, and things can change," he added.

With the hot weather set to continue, scores of people have been putting their money on the record temperature ever seen in the UK to be broken. Coral bookmakers have now halved the odds to 8-1 - and have also slashed the odds for it to reach 100F any time this year from 10-1 to 5-1.

I bet Piers is gutted at this warm spell, the chances of the coldest May in 100 years are going down the drain
