That narrow band of rain associated with the cold front has dropped 1.6mm of rain here in less than 15 minutes. It was also accompanied by a very rapid temperature drop. At 15:20 it was 16.8C and now just 15 minutes later its only 12.3C.

A good drop here too from 16.7c to 11.1c in about 90 minutes, but precious little rain with 1mm in the gauge and drizzle falling now.

It's still very windy here but not as strong gusts as earlier but it is now accompanied by horizontal drizzle - nice !!

A little light rain and drizzle at times this morning, then a spell of moderate to heavy rain 12-1300. This cold front dropped the temperature 3c in the hour down to 9.5c by 1300.

Although i do enjoy severe weather i would just like to say we must spare a thought for the people killed or injured in the severe weather event of the recent past. I love to see feet of snow piling up in winter but i dont wish anybody to freeze to death, the same with storms and high winds.

The cloud broke up to allow sunny intervals after 1600 and, after a decrease in wind strength following the rain, it picked up again from the west by late afternoon, though not as strong as during the morning.

A very windy day that started bright but quickly clouded over. We got about 10 or so mins of rain which dried up fast in the sun and wind that followed.

A lovely bright sunny evening but feeling fresher & cooler. 19.1c max now 14.1c.

Surprise surprise the suns setting with near cloudless skies, there was good sunny spells after 5pm today but with a howling wind and 11c hardly outdoors weather.

A windy day, mainly cloudy with a few bright intervals. The cloud thickened during the afternoon and produced some patchy rain by early evening which has now cleared. Currently partly cloudy, 11.6 deg C, wind fresh W. Today's maximum 17.1, last night's minimum 9.0.

A dismal start to the day - heavy rain and cool temps, the rain cleared at lunchtime to be replaced by bright spells and very strong winds. A number of trees have fallen onto local roads around here.

Certainly has felt like an October day with maxima of just 13 degrees but feeling more like 6 or 7 degrees in the wind.
