No sign of NLCs tonight but a beautiful sky clear to the horizon with yellow/orange glow. Getting near midgie time but free so far. 21billion of the little devils expected in Scotland due to the mild winter.

Finally there pretty much. The time of longest day length. Sunrise will start to draw out pretty much from now onwards and evenings will follow suit shortly after. I usually notice evenings drawing in around or just after my birthday in mid July, becoming more evident by the end of the month.

I was a bit taken aback how light it was after midnight this morning, it being clear rather than variants of sea fog for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Its come around again with the Shetlands on Easter Sunday

I'm already enjoying the 'glow' , post sunset, moving toward the NW.

That will soon be sunsets travelling the same area!

Definitely more noticeable as we approach the Summer Solstice, heading home at 2am this morning and it was relatively light looking towards the north although I couldn't see any Noctilucent Clouds at that time.

We will keep the noticeable lingering glow here until we hit the 20th (ish) of July. By the 28th July we're back into getting true darkness again with no lingering twilight at all.

I think there were noctilucent clouds on display earlier this morning as Arnie Pie pictured.

Here is a Q? I live i Edmonton Canada which is the same latitude as Manchester..but what i have noticed is that after sundown it gets dark here quicker than back home...my thoughts that because the UK is surrounded by water there is a certain amount of light reflection that refracts back skywards thus prolonging dusk..where as here its in the middle of huge landmass so there is no light reflection therefore it gets darker faster?
