Got some good snow and ice pictures from this winter’s cold snaps? Or maybe even some from a previous winter in the UK or skiing holiday abroad? Then why not enter them into a winter photo competition being held by quarterly magazine tlm – the travel & leisure magazine.

The magazine has been running a two-part competition since the beginning of the year. Entries submitted during January have been whittled down to 12 finalists, and a public vote is being held until the end of February to choose the winning picture. You can view the finalists here: http://on.fb.me/tlm_jancomp_finalists And if you want to add your vote, just click on http://bit.ly/tlm_jan_photocomp_voting

If you missed out on the January competition, there is still time to enter your favourite winter photos for the February one, by going to http://bit.ly/tlm_feb_photocomp Entries close at midnight on February 28. The 12 finalists for February will then be chosen by a public vote, with the winner being selected from the final 12 in another public vote. Entries for February can be viewed on a gallery here: http://on.fb.me/tlm_feb_photogallery

The winning January and February photos will each receive a copy of the Insight Guide to Travel Photography, worth £14.99.

There are also other prizes to be won in general competitions on the tlm website (http://www.tlm-magazine.co.uk) - and another photography cometition is due to be launched at the end of March, with a camera expected to be the star prize. In case you wonder how I know, I'm the editor!

Good luck everyone.

Roll up, roll up... Last chance to enter this competition. Entries must be in by midnight tomorrow (Monday February 28). Dig out those ice and snow photos and give it a go. Someone has to win - and it could be you.

I've submitted some photos but there's a 100 character limit in the message box - so only put my name and address there. however photo descriptions have been posted in the other entry page and also I submitted full size images (except for the last one) - didn't realsie how big they were so they may be a tad too big. Whoops :whistling: Let me know if I've messed up.... :)

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
