Isis will be here to stay untill Saudi Arabia stops funding them and destroying the region and caring out Isis kind of punishment and brutality

I don't agree. In another context I posted this as part of a post in the other thread recently.

The brand of ultra conservative Islam which is the basis of IS ideology is nearly identical to that of Saudi Arabia. In fact when the State needed textbooks to distribute to school children in Raqqa, it printed out copies of Saudi state text books found online. Saudi Arabia is also one of the few Muslim countries still meeting out the harsh hudud punishments so favoured by IS.

So it can be argued that the the head of the snake is not in Raqqa, it is in Saudi Arabia — which is the main source of Wahhabi and Salafi ideology. It is this ideology that breeds terrorists inside and outside Islamic countries.

So although there are basic ideological similarities and SA may have provided some funding IS is a separate entity and would exist without SA. That's not to say I don't think Wahhabi and Salafi ideology not responsible for much of the increase in Islamic extremism.

There is no other description for what is happening other than war crime and genocide.   Israel is technically the occupying force on Gaza and as such is duty bound to protect civilians.   Complet

The scenes in Gaza look like the aftermath of a nuclear bomb, utter devastation. The Israelis telling people to go back to their homes in northern Gaza as its "safe", what are they supposed to go back

Reported on the BBC too... An air strike on an army camp has killed three soldiers, the Syrian government says, blaming the US-led coalition for the attack. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-

    Not sure how true but......

#BREAKING: Turkish TV say Russian warplane crashes near Syria-Turkey border, some other reports say it was shot down https://t.co/GGJJrSFdfc

Turkey has shot down a military plane on the Syrian border, local media reported, citing military sources.

A plane exploded in the air and the fireball fell on a Turkmen mountain on the Syrian side of the border, CNN-Turk and NTV televisions reported.

A Turkish government official told AFP news agency: "We are trying to identify the nationality of the plane."

Turkish F-16 fighter jets shot down the plane after it violated Turkish air space close to the Syrian border and ignored warnings, a Turkish military official told Reuters.

    More follows.

If turkey gets drawn into the war now, I hope they don't drag the whole of nato in as they kind of bought it on themselves if they did shoot it down. As turkey was never Russia's target. NATO do not get drawn Turkey obviously has an agenda if they did shoot it down and they will want our help. I just don't think they deserve it, as being the aggressor.

    1) Terrorist attacks in Paris. 2) Brussels in terrorist-alert lockdown for days. 3) And now a NATO member country downs a Russian airplane.

If it was in Turkish air space and and was given a warning like the media is reporting then they are well within there rights to shoot it down.

The Russians are arrogant when it comes to things like this, serves them right really and will hopefully teach them a lesson.

Exactly, it was shot down over syria, so no excuse, once it crossed the border if it was ever over it,, it had heeded the warning.

Putin has the chance to be the bigger man here if the plane did not violate Turkish air space. Rattle the table, complain bitterly to the Turks, UN, USA et al but basically do nothing to conflate the already tense situation.

Everyone is trigger happy at the moment but Putin seems to be able to play a long game, hope it continues that way.

Initial US indications: Russia incursion into Turkey airspace lasted a matter of seconds...

Here is the radar track. Looks like two very short incursions over that small neck of land.

The reason the Turks shot it down was most likely because the Russians were attacking Turkish backed Turkmen rebel forces.

Nope, rebel fighters. Funny that people can't tell the difference between them. Then again there's barely any difference. One group of Islamic supremacists vs another group of Islamic supremacists.

    • Cold waves hitting Europe continue to threaten growers, is there a link to climate change?

Much of Europe, not just the UK, has experienced unseasonably cold weather since the Easter Weekend. A plunge of cold arctic air brought by northerly winds early last week brought several nights of frost and even snow across large swathes of Europe, followed by another wave of cold arctic air spreads across much of Europe this week. The frosts causing damage to new growth in vineyards and orchardsa0spurred on by a late March heatwave, the vineyards of France werea0particularly badly affected.
