Invest 96S has acquired enough organisation to be designated a 35kt tropical cyclone by JTWC, the fourteenth in the Southern Hemisphere so far this season. 14S is moving westwards away from the NW Austrailian mainland and therefore is of no threat. Moderate to high shear over the system will ease over the next day or two, but as the cyclone is moving over cooler waters, it should not strengthen beyond minimal storm intensity. 14S should eventually dissipate over open water.

High shear has dramatically taken it's toll on 14S today. The system no longer qualifies as a tropical cyclone by the JTWC, and never did by BOM. Convection has completely diminished over a dissipating LLC. With waters becoming cooler on 14S' track, regeneration is not likely, despite shear beginning to ease.
