Corruption In Cricket

Recommended Posts

Surprisingly the trio Butt, Asif and Amir have been banned. Nice too see the authorities having the balls to do it. Now they have to come back here for a court case. Question is now will they appeal?

What a crock of crap from the ICC!!!....Yet again, the real story is the expose of the ICC as a bunch of spineless baffoons....The trio were found guilty, so where is the life-time ban???..

So Aamir gets a smaller ban than the others, despite commiting the same offences....why?......"Oh, you're younger and have been corrupted, but as you're young we'll slap your wrists hard, don't do it again, and come back in 3 years?".......or is it, Aamir is a young exciting, camera friendly talent who in the ICC's eyes is marketable, will help grow the worldwide game in future years, thus making the ICC more money?.....Sorry, but the cynical part of me thinks that the ICC is more corrupt than messr's Butt, Asif & Aamir!

yes the length and variation of the bans is odd. They were found guilty so why not longer sentences?

You should be greatful they got a ban. Normally Pakistan claim racism go off in a huff and the ICC run away scared of breaking up cricket instead of calling their bluff. If I remember correctly this card was played some of the people involved in this matter but unfortunately for them enough in the Pakistani cricket board were a bit annoyed with them so the smoke screen didn't work.

fingers crossed, the C.P.S will bring them to trial, providing of course that they enter the UKof their own free will or Pakistan extradite the trio, find them guilty of them receiving gifts/money from illegal gambling activities (providing of course that they are indeed guilty) ...pass custodial sentences, then the ICC will have no choice but to ban them for life with no grounds for appeal

Presumably they thought Aamir was under duress from senior members of the team. Still unforgivable, anyway.
