Here are my rainfall statistics for the summer period

June: 21.6mm (32% of the CET average Rainfall)

July: 62.5mm (108.8% of the CET average Rainfall)

August: 97.4mm (134% of the CET average Rainfall)

Summer overall: 181.5mm (91% of the CET average summer rainfall)

So slightly on the dry side of the average, but that's only thanks to June, the other two months were comfortably above average.

I will do a month by month analysis at the end of the year

However to this point from January-August we have 371.9mm

Rainfall Totals here:

Jan: 48.0mm (78%)

Feb: 86.6mm (168%)

Mar: 69.0mm (128%)

Apr: 11.8mm (21%)

May: 34.8mm (71%)

June: 78.0mm (142%)

July: 63.8mm (118%)

Aug: 105.0mm (194%)

Total: 497.0mm (114%)

Only three drier than average months and May was only dry because the coastal fringe escaped the worst of the rain (and most of which did make it here, fell at the weekends making it feel like a wet month).

May averaged 144% across N.E. Scotland so only two drier than average months this year for this region and only 9 drier than average out of 28 since May 2009 due to the dearth of the formerly prevailing west and south west winds nonono.gif

Despite the appearance of the rain radar overnight, we squeezed only 2mm of rain from that system that has just crossed us. Still very dry here.

Just did a bit of calculating and if every month after September reaches average rainfall we will still only have around 488 mm's of rainfall annually.. so it's going to take a very wet month or two to do any justice.
