A low of -12.4C in the small hours, but now it's clouded over and risen to -7.5C. Cloud looks quite thick....could be an official white Christmas here, to go with the inch or snow of snow we've now had for well over a week.

Its not so cold as previous nights due to cloud cover which now appears to be dispersing,temperature -3c with a light West wind.Snow depth 9cm.

Very cold, the coldest night I have recorded. Beautiful feathered frost on fences/trees/grass etc near the river, which is freezing over with even a big circle of ice where there was an eddy. There were swans in the river surrounded by ice, though they were able to climb free.

About 6 inches of snow lying still.

The coldest Christmas morning and the coldest night since I began keeping records in 2005, this looks also to be the coldest locally since records began in 1991. –12.2c with –16.6c on the grass (snow)Mean snow depth 5.5cm 100%.

Cloudy spells and a constant moderate northerly breeze overnight have kept the screen temperature falling to extreme levels, never the less a moderate to severe penetrating frost, low –4.7c, with –12.0c on the snow. Mean snow depth at observation 7.0cm. Sunny spells, feeling very cold, high, 0.6c.

Cloudy and dry yet again (for the 6th day in a row), currently -0.6 after an overnight minimum of -2.0. Wind light variable. Snow cover has reduced to about 25%.

Ive always wanted snow of snow for a whiter than white christmas.

Currently clear and sunny with a temperature of -2.6C. Skies cleared in the early hours giving a min temp of -3.9C. Officially a white christmas too with snow falling just after midnight. Theres a mean depth of 8cm so a very beautiful scene.

Hard to believe the temp's some people have recorded compared to here. After a min' of -3.4c early in the evening the temp' rose to around -2.3c by 2100 yesterday and remained around that level for the rest of the night. Clear sky throughout the night and a sunny start to today although there's now a sheet of Stcu spreading in from the north.

The temp' at 0900 was -2.1c and currently on the house roof it's 0.1c.

Mean wind speed is 10 mph W/NW

Vis', over 80 km

Mean depth of lying snow; 6cm.

Frequent snow showers here, but much warmer than forecast with the temp only just below freezing at -0.1C.

Just crept above freezing early afternoon here, and finally cleared up too after several days of gloom. Currently sunny, -0.7 deg C, wind light variable. Today's maximum 0.2, last night's minimum -2.0. Looks like we're in for a hard frost tonight :cold:

The temperature got above 0c around midday today for the first time since about midday on the 16th.

A dry and sunny morning and early afternoon. Cloud increased temporarily from about 1400 until near sunset but then dispersed again. A moderate-fresh W breeze all day.

A clear morning with it temporarily clouding over during the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 0.8C.

Currently clear again at -1.4C. No noticeable thaw of the snow cover which remains at a mean depth of 8cm.

It was the 19th air frost and 21st day of snow lying of the month.
