I'm beginning to get the feeling my 2.3C may well be a couple of degrees too low. The stratospheric elements certainly don't seem to be developing as I had hoped, and an SSW was my main hope in what would bring another cold month...

12z GFS looks a little colder then the 06z was, esp in the medium term and also makes a far more restricted breakdown.

I can't see anything other then a below average month at this early stage though its a little too soon to have any ideas how below it ends up...I doubt it goes as low as December...mind you who knows haha!

I am expecting a severe cold period lasting 2wks from next wk. this week cold.

so im going for 0.8c

this month mostly cold with a prolonged severe period. also a very snowy month.

was just thinking that before I visited this thread, I hope not as a massive cold and snow fan, but could well be that 4.6C is the 'winner' but I really hope not

As a mild week (next)is now looking likely down south at least then the 0.8c i guessed is to low, can we get the last 2wks to extreme...we shall see..

I assume Scotland should have a half decent CET. If we can get a good cold spell in February, Scotland's Overall Winter CET should be pretty good.

Models indicate that the CET will drop from the 16th again, this weekend should not be too mild either.

Today's min is a suprisingly low 1.3C, so not a large a move upwards tomorrow as expected.
