well an odd sort of record this morning, temperature at 0850 was -2.0C the HIGHEST since this cold spell started! Min was -6.7C at 2100 last evening.

Weather dry with a northerly breeze and 7/8 cloud= a mix of Sc with thick Ci above

A mainly cloudy night although the cloud was thin throughout the evening, thickening to bring outbreaks of light-moderate snow by the early hours. Currently cloudy with light snow falling.

The temp' is -2.6c after an overnight min' of -3.8c, the 24 hr min' was -4.8c.

Light to moderate snow overnight has left a powder cover of 9.5cm. Another severe frost also, low –5.9c with –7.7c on the snow. At observation, moderate snow.

Sky:8 Oktas, Nimbostratus.

Temperature: -2.0°C

Wind Direction: N Force 2

Humidity: 90%

Barometer:1008mb rising slowly.

Yesterday:

Another severe frost, though variable cloud through the night has prevented the temperature from falling to the extreme lows of previous nights, night low –6.0c, but the moderate NE wind is making for a severe wind chill of –12c. The 24 hour low since 09:00GMT yesterday was –11.1c. Mainly cloudy conditions persisted, with only brief bright or sunny spells. The keen NE made it feel very cold indeed. Maximum –1.4c.

The slow thaw here in Reading continues, with another dull and quiet day and temperatures hovering around 1 deg C. At present the main roads are clear and the rest of town is mostly slushy, with around 50% of our snow cover gone.

Currently overcast, 1.1 deg C, wind light N. Today's maximum 1.3, last night's minimum 0.4.

-10C after another day of a maximum of -5C. The rime on the trees looked incredible against the bright blue sky. If I'd seen a photo of it I would have thought it was fake :good:

Clear with a very severe frost last night, and again this evening.

Mostly sunny but very cold day-time, an ice day in fact. Light NNE breeze. Little thaw.
