Snow, Blizzard type conditions at around 12.50pm this afternoon, lots of light snow, most of it had cleared from the main roads after it stopped tho. Making side-roads and pavements really tricky now as its -4.3c and dropping, more heavy snow due tomorrow if the forecasts are to be believed.

-4c but dry as the Sahara.

This is the 30-something-th air frost of autumn/winter, I will add up the exact number later but that is a ridiculous stat for the 17th December.

I'm up in Cleadon till early January so can now supply exact readings from my AWS.

It was a mostly sunny day here but high cloud (Ci/Cs/As) advanced from the west during the afternoon, though a lot of it has dispersed in the evening. A moderate but slackening NW wind backing westerly, virtually calm now.

-1.3C max following a -3.7C min, coldest maximum here since 29th December 1995, currently -5.3C. No snow on the ground (yet) other than piles from the dumping a couple of weeks ago and a little smattering on the grass from yesterday morning.
