40 Injured In Portugal Tornado

A Tornado that this afternoon (Dec 7) went through the District of Santarém left a leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

There are news of at least 40 injured, of which 19 are children of a kindergarten; more than 200 homes are destroyed, many industrial structures badly damaged, roads cut hundreds of trees felled by the winds.

Edmundo Martin, President of the Institute of social security, says it has emergency plans operated, under the coordination of civil protection, trying to solve all these situations.

Fanastic footage there, but as always sad for the people/children injured, I hope nobody is too badly hurt, the buildings can be re- built, if you know what I mean

42 injuries now reported

there was another further North also

Carvalhal Formoso, Inguias 5 km SE of Belmonte Tornado affected two small villages, "Carvalhal Formoso" and "Inguias", 5km SE of Belmonte Castelo Branco
