I would never complain about cold and snow but taking the observations is getting to be hard work, now wading through snow between knee and thigh deep to dig out buried thermometers and rain gauges. The screen was filled with blown snow again this morning.

About 4cm of fresh snow overnight as far as I can tell, very difficult to made exact readings as there is so much blowing snow but the average depth taken from 30 different measurements agrees with this so probably not far out.

Currently cloudy with continuous light snow.

The temp' is -2.5c after a min' of -3.1c

careful TM you could be in danger of losing your I love cold and wet tag!

Thanks for the update-sounds lovely up there, its bad enough here, I cannot remember measuring a snow depth on consecutive mornings over 30cm for a very very long time. Certainly its never happened in 20 years here.

Overnight steady light snow gave a maximum depth of 1-2 cm this morning, our first lying snow of the season, and light snow continued to fall until mid-morning. The snow started to thaw in the afternoon and about half of it has now melted.

Light snow cleared to bright intervals from late morning onwards. Currently cloudy, -0.4 deg C, wind moderate NE. Today's maximum 0.6, last night's minimum -0.5.

A cold and cloudy day with mainly light snow showers althoug there was one moderate-heavy one this morning which put down 2 cm. At the moment though, any additional snow is barely keeping pace with the compaction of the existing cover.

The wind decreased later this morning and consequently the drifting had stopped by early afternoon.
