Local fields have a 4-5 inch level cover, pavements a compacted 2 inches and in Kendal about 1 inch cover on pavements and 2 inches on grass. Its very icy now.

Higher ground has a general 20cm-30cm cover, with drifts approaching a metre- none of this will dissapear anytime soon.

On the 1st December (no snow since), i recorded 23cm of level snow, which has now completely melted away from a few fields, so more than Feb 2009 with 14cm, but less than last years cold spell which i recorded 29cm from on Jan 6th.

Hi there. It would be great if everyone could post their snow depths here on this page, with the location and time (ie. 20cm, Dyce near Aberdeen, North East Scotland at 11.30).

Here it's around 17cm, Torrance, north of Glasgow, Central Scotland, 10.00.

Here in Clatt, Aberdeenshire we've had approx 60cm by 10/12/10 with more to come this week, with wind!!
