Very wet and windy night and morning with rain, often heavy brining a total of 41.8mm which is the highest daily total since my station was set up in October 2007. As a result the river which was at normal levels this morning became very high and flooded in quite a few places (though not as bad as some of the scenes in Cornwall). Rain cleared just before 12:00 and the wind died down then. The afternoon was then a contrast, feeling pleasant in sunshine and very light winds.

Cool and mainly clear this evening with mist/fog, but a shower has just started.
