Having said that there are holes in the cloud sheet and half an hour ago, when it was raining here, there was sunshine on the hills about 4 miles to the north east, and a partial rainbow visible through the shreds of stratus.

The early morning rain died out by 0915 and the rest of the morning was cloudy and very mild with a strong SW wind. The afternoon began dry but light-moderate rain set in by about 1515 and continued for the rest of the day.
