Showery bursts of rain interspersed with brighter spells so far this morning, under the rain the clouds are very low typical of tropical maritime air aloft.

Not looking too bad a weekend - the autumn colours are at there best now, I'll be making the most of this weekend checking out the autumn splendour - hope others do too, in a couple of weeks the show will nearly be over especially in the north. It does seem a particularly great year this year for autumn colour.

For the past hour and a half, there's been a big patch of blue sky to my north west. For the past hour and a half, that patch of blue sky has stayed to the north west whilst it's chucked it down with rain here. 6.2mm so far.

Currently 7.3C and raining....with a big patch of blue sky to the north west.....did I mention that?
