Id just like to share some of my favourite photos I have taken with my rather inexpensive camera. It done me proud over the last three years and owes me nothing. I love sunsets and sunrises and many are taken from the bottom of the croft.

So please enjoy, when Skye is beautiful it is heaven on Earth.

Some fantastic stuff their 'Lots', I've never been myself but this is a great advert and I should make the effort to see some of the stunning views.

Fab photos LOTS, just goes to show that you don't need an expensive camera, the landscape does the work for you. Would you mind giving us a clue whereabouts you are? I have stayed on Skye quite a few times and that area looks vaguely familiar....

Just re-read - saw your location. I have always stayed in the North - a magical island!

Great pictures LOTS! :) Must be awful having to walk all the way to the bottom of your garden to see views like that :p

I don't have any photos of Skye 'because last time I was there was so long ago I was taking transparencies ...... I suppose I ought get my slides converted to digital one day!

Have to admit I've never stopped off in Brecais though - always been Cuillin bound (or heading to Raasay) :D

Amazing....have you got a spare room in your house. I could spend the rest of my life investigating the mysteries of the Isle of Skye.

Spare room...lol we just built a new 3 bedroomed house for the four of us and then we decide that we should have twin boy and girl.... I have the byre? lol

Good place for a holiday! Come in May or september when midges arent so bad.

It is an amazing place, and most of it is because of the geology.

The Isle of Skye is just so beautiful, I love it! Where are you from originally? The Highlands, lowlands or England?

Edit: Oh and I really like your photos too - many thanks :)

My apologies LOTS, I assumed that you were a Sgitheanach yourself or that like many of those who have moved there you'd learned a little bit of the language - thanks for sharing your photos.

Hi Rab, I come from the east coast of Sutherland, 60 miles north of Inverness orginally Moved over here a few years ago.. Ive never had any notion to learn the language, So many other things to do. Many incomers like to learn the mother tongue because its like a fad or fashion. Not for me though. Thanks for your comments on photos.

I would disagree that it's like a fad or fashion, it's ingrained in the culture and makes Skye (and the rest of the Highlands for that matter) what it is. Can't see the increasing trend in more Gaelic learners dying out any time soon - it's important that we have these rights.
