just managed double figures at 10.2C, breezy and with -ve dewpoint feeling very nippy in the breeze. Coldest day since 10 May following on from the coldest night since 13 May and also the first ground frost since that date.

It's warm up north The temperature here struggled to just 8.6 and is already falling away - I'm trying to remember the last time we had such a cold day in October [Edit - on 28/10/2008, when we had lying snow in the morning, we had a similar maximum here].

Anyway, it's been dry all day with 100% sunshine and feeling quite pleasant out of the wind. Current conditions: clear, 8.0 deg C, wind light NW. Today's maximum 8.6, last night's minimum 2.9.
