Early German Snow

22nd and 23rd September 1931 saw an early season cold blast across central Europe. Heavy snow fell in the Upper Bavaria area and on the hills to the NW of Frankfurt. It was first time snow was recorded in September at Munich since 1830 and the Frankfurt area since 1859


It was a cold month across much of western Europe including the British Isles.
