Not Knowing

Well here I go folks.. ABOUT 7 weeks ago started to experience severe pain above the left eye, trust me when I say SEVERE I mean SEVERE on a scale of 1 to 10 it was 12, it would only happen through the night, and wake me up,Then I would have to try to sleep sitting up because laying down WAS not possible. I went to the DOCS she could not diagnose it other than an ABSCESS, and said I do not know what the DENTIST would prescribe, I told her METRODONZEL is what i have had before,So I was given that.

This had no effect 3 to 4 days later, So I stopped taken it and went to the dentist, they told me I had a sinus infection, took an X-RAY and said these teeth need to come out (2) in total,So the dentist prescribed me,Antibiotics for SINUS INFECTION, these made me ILL, had to stop taken them

IRONIC The doctor prescribed medication for DENTAL and the DENTIST prescribed medication for NON dental very WEIRD

About 3 weeks ago I went to the DENTIST for an EXTRACTION, TRUST pooing it.

Here comes the weird bit, After having the tooth out, I noticed 3 days LATER my left eye pupil not DILATING, Although the severe head pain had gone at present, There was still a DULL constant ache from the point of waking up till falling asleep,BUT my left pupil still is not fully dilating.

The consultant stated that the DENTIST had damaged the 5th NERVE by chance, this nerve controls the upper eye lid and pupil.

In the end i went to URGENT care in hemel hempstead, the doc looked at my eye an suspected HORNER S SYNDROME.

I knew nothing then so I text my WIFE, AS the doc said to take this letter to AAU,I WOULD SKIP A and E.

I drove home, My wife had watery EYES I said what's wrong, My wife said HORNER S SYNDROME is bad news, as she had already lost her brother 10 years ago and her DAD 5 years ago, I was WORRIED.

THIS WAS NOT diagnosed

I would just like to add that through all this i was placed on these antibiotics, METRODONZAL, ETHROMYCYN,CATHALAXIN, and A PAIN KILLING COURSE OF morphine and codeine mix.

To this day my symptoms are still same,as my appointment to the maxillio is not until the 19Th of October.

So I am in no mans land at the MO

After all that JARGON i was dying to know if anyone on NET WEATHER has had a BAD EXPERIENCE regarding NHS.

MANY THANKS FOR READING,

JASON.

APOLOGISES FOR POOR SPELLING. HAVE NOT HAD A DRINK FOR WEEKS.

PLEASE CORRECT AS YOU SEE FIT.

Sorry to hear that sl. It appears you are going to all the correct places for diagnosis and unless we have trained medical staff reading this who can assist you by way of a PM message, could we keep this thread to sliver line's question about sharing members experiences of the NHS.

Please remember this is a public forum and although you think your opinion or experience may be valid, you should consider very carefully the content, who will be reading it and what any consequences may be.

Hi SL, dont know if you have read my blog, but this illness you're experiencing sound a little familiar. Do you get the pain on the same side of your head all the time, around the same time (but not exclusively) because if you do this may be 'Clusterheadaches'... Not life-threatening but is one of the worst pains a human can endure. Ive suffered these for over 15 yrs but only diagnosed 2 years ago and come at the same time of year every year and last around 6-7 weeks. This condition can be controlled to a certain degree with sumatriptan (Imigran) either injectable or nasal, i'm also on verapamil to dialate the blood vessels in my brain to ease the blood flow and this tuesday i'm getting oxygen delivered as over 80% of sufferers have been able to control their pain inhaling pure oxygen. I hope you get your condition sorted and its not horners syndrome or anything else of that nature.

I'd be worried about any ILLNESS that made me SUDDENLY start to TYPE in CAPITAL letters. HOWEVER, I hope you start to FEEL better SOON. Sorry to hear you have had a CRAP experience thanks to the NHS - your not he ONLY one, believe me. (joke)

In all seriousness, it wouldnt suprise me if we ended up with paying for private health care and the NHS being a thing of the past in the foreseeable future. Especially with the spending cuts planned. Shame really.

Thanks to all for your comments really appreciated. The good news is that after every possible scan, tests, etc. It has been confirmed as cluster headaches. I have not had an attack since then though. However the docs and specialists have stated that the sluggish left pupil may not return to full normal function but this still does not affect my sight.

So just going to plod along in hope it may sort itself out as the docs said, just have to stay on blood pressure tablets and small dose of aspirin daily.

Thanks For your Comments guys.

JASON. SL.
