(apologies to stuart but there was no update posted on here yesterday)

UK Outlook for Wednesday 25 Jun 2014 to Wednesday 9 Jul 2014:

Through the latter part of June and into early July, there are indications that conditions may turn a little more unsettled, particularly across northwestern parts of the UK, with the best of the drier and brighter conditions towards the south and east. Temperatures are likely to be around average for eastern areas, and given the time of year, feeling warm in the sunshine, however temperatures may be a little below average in more unsettled northwestern areas.

Strange one that BA looking at the data at present to my eyes NW Britain looks best for any drier sunnier weather closer proximity to the high, cant really understand that update hand on heart..

UK Outlook for Sunday 15 Jun 2014 to Tuesday 24 Jun 2014:

High pressure tends to dominate throughout the period, with variable but often large amounts of cloud across the UK. The best of the sunshine will tend to be in sheltered southern parts, where it will also be mainly dry. Outbreaks of rain in the north and northwest of the UK will make slow progress southwards through next week, but the rain will tend to become very light and patchy as it crosses the UK, with little, if any, rain in the south and southwest of the country. Temperatures will tend to be above average at first in sheltered central and southern areas, but returning to nearer normal through the week, and feeling rather cool at times in the cloudier north and northwest.

Just as the met office use the words High pressure tends to dominate the models backtrack to a more unsettled outlook from mid next week...........

UK Outlook for Wednesday 18 Jun 2014 to Friday 27 Jun 2014:

High pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern across the UK, meaning a continuation of the fine and dry spell for many places. However, there will be a fair amount of cloud at times as weak weather systems try to make inroads from the northwest, but equally, most places should also see some warm sunshine. Temperatures on the whole will be above the seasonal average, particularly where sunshine is more abundant, however the exception to this will be the far southeast, where cooler conditions are expected, particularly on coasts, due to a north or northeasterly breeze. Towards the end of this period, the far north and northwest of the UK may see a change to slightly more unsettled conditions with some rain at times, as well as stronger winds.

UK Outlook for Friday 20 Jun 2014 to Sunday 29 Jun 2014:

High pressure will continue to dominate the UK during the majority of this period bringing settled and largely fine conditions in the south and west. It will however be cloudier towards the north and east with occasional weak weather fronts spreading southwards, giving a little rain or drizzle at times. Temperatures on the whole will be close to or just above average, although it will feel warm in the sunshine, particularly in the west. Feeling cooler on some coasts due to sea breezes and more generally cooler in some eastern areas with cloudier skies and an onshore breeze. High pressure is likely to remain close to the UK during the remainder of the month, although there is a low risk of some showers developing in places.

UK Outlook for Saturday 21 Jun 2014 to Monday 30 Jun 2014:

Mainly dry through the weekend with the best of the sunshine across southern and western areas. It will be cloudier further north and east, with cloud thick enough to give some light rain or showers in places. Temperatures will be rather warm in the sunnier south and west, but cooler elsewhere. There is a moderate chance of cloud and rain affecting northern areas on Monday, moving across some eastern parts into Tuesday, but weakening as it sinks south. Similar conditions look set to continue thereafter, with predominantly dry conditions, particularly across southern parts with the greatest chance of a little rain in the north. Warm in the sunshine but rather cool at times in the north. Generally light winds throughout but it may be breezy across northern areas at times.

UK Outlook for Thursday 3 Jul 2014 to Thursday 17 Jul 2014:

By the start of July, there are indications that conditions may turn more changeable than the latter part of June, particularly across northwestern parts of the United Kingdom, with the best of the drier and brighter conditions towards the south and southwest, though some rain is still possible here. It will feel warm or very warm in the sunnier periods. Conversely, temperatures may dip a little below average on occasion in more unsettled spells.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 25 Jun 2014 to Friday 4 Jul 2014:

Many places will remain dry on Wednesday with sunshine most likely in the east. Cloudier in the west with some rain arriving later and probably spreading to all but the far southeast during Thursday as high pressure declines. Temperatures around average, but cooler in onshore winds in the east. Thereafter, more changeable conditions are expected, with spells of rain at times which will be most frequent in the northwest. In the rain and breezier conditions in the west, temperatures will be below normal. However, there will still be some fine, dry periods, particularly in the south and southeast, when it will feel warm in any sunshine. Most likely remaining changeable into the following week with occasional rain interspersed with drier spells, driest in the south and southeast of the UK.

UK Outlook for Saturday 5 Jul 2014 to Saturday 19 Jul 2014:

Although the weather will most probably remain changeable at the start of this period with spells of rain at times, there are signs of a change towards less unsettled conditions during the second week of July. This would point towards drier than average conditions with temperatures also above average, especially in sunny spells when it will feel very warm.

UK Outlook for Thursday 26 Jun 2014 to Saturday 5 Jul 2014:

Mainly fine towards the south and east on Thursday, but a steady, if rather uncertain, transition to more unsettled conditions looks likely through the start of this period. Rain will likely spread eastwards through the course of Friday and this will introduce the rather more changeable conditions with spells of rain or showers crossing most parts over the weekend and into next week. Thereafter, a continuation of this changeable weather looks likely, with northern areas at greatest risk of seeing some more organised and heavier rain at times, along with stronger winds than of late. The south and southeast should continue to see the best of the drier, brighter weather and consequently, the highest temperatures, rising above the seasonal average at times.

Outbreaks of rain affecting many parts at first on Friday, easing later in the day. Otherwise, rather cloudy with showers developing, these becoming locally heavy and thundery, mainly across central parts. Showers or longer spells of rain for some eastern parts at first on Saturday, but drier and more settled conditions gradually extending eastwards through the day. Temperatures less warm than recently, but generally around average for most. Thereafter, a continuation of changeable weather looks most likely, with northern areas at greatest risk of seeing some more organised and heavier rain at times, along with stronger winds than of late. The south and southeast should continue to see the best of the drier, brighter weather and consequently, the highest temperatures, rising above the seasonal average at times.

UK Outlook for Monday 30 Jun 2014 to Wednesday 9 Jul 2014:

Sunny spells and scattered showers during the first half of the week, although they won't be as heavy as the weekend. Temperatures by day will be around, or a little below, average after some chilly nights in rural northern parts. However, given the time of year, it will feel warm in the sunny spells. Later in the week, there is an increasing risk of more unsettled weather pushing down from the northwest bringing showers or longer spells of rain. Northwestern areas are at greatest risk of seeing more organised and heavier rain at times, along with stronger winds than of late. Whilst, the south and southeast will see the best of the drier and brighter spells and consequently, the highest temperatures.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 2 Jul 2014 to Friday 11 Jul 2014:

On Wednesday many places will be dry with some sunny spells after a chilly start. However, turning cloudier from the north, with rain and strengthening winds arriving in the northwest of the UK and spreading south and eastwards during Thursday to all but southeast England. Temperatures by day around, or a little below, average. The unsettled, windy conditions will continue through into the following week with outbreaks of rain interspersed with brighter, showery periods, the wettest weather most likely towards the northwest with a risk of gales too. Although temperatures will be fairly typical for July, it will feel unpleasant in the wind and rain. By the end of the period, it will probably become less unsettled, with drier, brighter weather spreading to at least the southwest of the country.

On Thursday, the far south and east should stay dry with some warm sunshine, but cloudier further north with rain spreading slowly south and eastwards into Friday with showers following.
