UK Outlook for Friday 6 Dec 2013 to Friday 20 Dec 2013:

Current indications are that high pressure is likely to continue to influence the weather over southern and eastern parts, which would bring generally settled and dry conditions here. With this there is an increased risk of fog or freezing fog patches that may be slow to clear in places. In terms of temperatures, it is likely to remain on the colder side of normal. Across northern and western areas there are some indications that the weather may be a little more unsettled. This would bring wetter, windier and milder conditions here.

So this is what Exeter actually published UK Outlook for Sunday 20 Jan 2019 to Tuesday 29 Jan 2019: Sunday will be cold across the UK, but for many it will be dry; brightest in the southeast

Yes I have just spent some time comparing their forecast issued on their web site at 0025 with the two latest Fax charts for Tuesday. They seemed at odds and this forecast seems to suggest what I beli

In reply to this  My thoughts on this are that met 9 times out of 10 will go for the default outcome which is the milder weather or high pressure over the uk scenario!!its just easier for them co

UK Outlook for Tuesday 26 Nov 2013 to Thursday 5 Dec 2013:

A band of light rain will move southeast over the UK on Tuesday, clearing on Wednesday morning. Thereafter, there will generally be a good deal of dry weather with variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells by day. Some fog or freezing fog patches are possible by night, and these could be slow to clear. It will stay cold, particularly so in the south, with overnight frosts, especially in rural areas. It is likely the far north will see more unsettled conditions at times, with strong winds and outbreaks of rain. There are signs that the more unsettled, milder and windier weather may then affect most parts for a time later in the period, but confidence of this is currently low.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 27 Nov 2013 to Friday 6 Dec 2013:

A band of rain will move south across eastern parts on Wednesday. Otherwise mainly cloudy on Wednesday and Thursday, with the best of any breaks in the east, but strong winds and persistent rain may continue to affect the far north. Thereafter, a good deal of dry and settled weather is likely at first, especially in the south, with some sunny/clear spells but also the risk of nighttime frosts and fog. More unsettled conditions are likely to move across Scotland, with stronger winds, rain and hill snow. These unsettled conditions are expected to transfer southwards affecting most parts by early December. There is a low risk than some colder conditions may spread across the UK for a time as we move into December, but temperatures are most likely near normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 7 Dec 2013 to Saturday 21 Dec 2013:

Current indications are that high pressure is likely to remain close to the southwest of the UK, and may continue to influence the weather across southern parts into mid December. Otherwise a return to more normal conditions for early winter is most likely. This will lead to the wettest and windiest conditions across the north and west of the UK, and the best of the drier and brighter conditions further south. There are indications that temperatures may remain a little below normal for the time of year.

Otherwise a return to more normal conditions for early winter is most likely. This will lead to the wettest and windiest conditions across the north of the UK, and the best of the drier and brighter conditions further south. There are indications that temperatures may remain a little below average for the time of year.

UK Outlook for Friday 29 Nov 2013 to Sunday 8 Dec 2013:

Strong winds and rain across Scotland will spread southeast through Friday, with colder air and blustery showers following, some of which will be wintry in the north. Through the weekend, most areas will remain dry with variable cloud and sunny spells by day, and frost and fog by night. However, further rain, strong winds and milder temperatures will push into the northwest. Thereafter, generally unsettled in the north and northwest with the best of the drier and brighter weather remaining in the south and southwest, although even here the unsettled conditions are likely to extend south to affect the area at times. There is a low risk that colder conditions may spread across the UK for a time as we move into December, but temperatures are most likely near normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 30 Nov 2013 to Monday 9 Dec 2013:

Through the weekend, many places will be dry with variable cloud and sunny spells by day, and frost patches by night. However, a few blustery showers are likely for some coastal areas exposed to the north on Saturday. Into next week, it will turn generally cloudier, southern Britain staying mainly dry, but more changeable weather in the north. These more unsettled conditions may then spread south around mid-week. Rather cold in the south at first next week, but turning milder from the north with temperatures rising nearer normal. Later in this period, there is a chance that colder conditions may return south across the UK, with more wintry weather for some, and a risk of gales, especially towards the north.

Much of England and Wales will be cloudy on Wednesday, with occasional rain clearing southwards. Further north, a mixture of bright spells and showers is most likely, especially in the north and northwest, with sheltered eastern parts mostly dry.
