UK Outlook for Thursday 15 May 2014 to Saturday 24 May 2014:

High pressure will build across central and southern parts of the country bringing a good deal of dry and fine weather to many with light winds, particularly in the south. However, northern and northwestern areas will be affected by cloudier and windier conditions at times with occasional rain or drizzle. Temperatures will be around average in the northwest, but turning warmer elsewhere, and locally very warm across the southeast and in areas east of high ground. However through the latter part of the weekend and into the following week, there is likely to be a transition to more unsettled and cooler conditions across the country with rain or showers, possibly heavy at times, although the southeast may hold on to the drier and brighter conditions for a time.

UK Outlook for Saturday 17 May 2014 to Monday 26 May 2014:

Through Saturday the fine, dry and warm weather looks likely to hang on across many eastern, southern and central parts, and even into Sunday in the southeast. However, rain is likely to push across northern areas on Saturday, before spreading southeastwards through Sunday, with cooler, clearer and more showery conditions following. Next week should be unsettled, with showers for most, but also some longer spells of rain, these most likely in the west and southwest where the winds could be strong. Warm under fine weather this weekend, temperatures next week then probably close to average for most, but perhaps still warm at times in brighter spells in between the showers. Towards the end of the period there are indications for more in the way of fine weather developing.

The above seems to fit farily well with the predicted height rises that the 500mb charts showed some days ago, perhaps the better weather lasting a shade longer than their upper pattern may have suggested.

Not too sure re there last sentence though as the upper pattern, at least that predicted by the anomaly charts seems a bit different.

UK Outlook for Saturday 31 May 2014 to Monday 9 Jun 2014:

Largely cloudy but mainly dry conditions are expected through Saturday although a few showers may develop across western areas. Through Sunday, more persistent rain across western areas is likely to push east through the day, with sunshine and showers following. The rain may well turn heavy for a time as it moves eastwards. Whilst temperatures will be near normal, it will feel cool with the rain. The weather is likely to stay changeable thereafter with showers or longer spells of rain accompanied by breezy conditions at times, particularly across western areas at first. Despite this, there will be some warmer, drier and sunnier spells but with the risk of some chilly nights for the time of year.
