Yes I know, but you usually post at 12-12.30 so but you probably have been unable to because the Met Office hadn't updated until now, which suggests that they had to think longer about the wording they would use, given the model swings over the last 12 hours.

EDIT : looks like I was right as they have changed their wording to partially at least, back the swing to a more blocked outlook overnight.

My apologies totally misread your post

Yes today's was one of the latest updates in quite a while though they've issued and altered a lot of warnings this morning which may explain the delay

UK Outlook for Monday 16 Jan 2017 to Wednesday 25 Jan 2017:

Through Monday, a band of rain will slowly move west across the UK to affect many central and western parts of the country. The precipitation could be wintry on its leading edge with the risk of snow over higher ground. Further east, it will be drier and brighter but with the risk of snow showers in places. Through Tuesday, colder but drier and brighter conditions are expected to push west across the country but with a continued risk of snow showers across the east. Thereafter, many areas will be dry and fine with an increasing risk of frost and fog, with any rain restricted to the northwest. It will stay cold, especially in the east and south, where sleet or snow showers are also possible.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 25 Jan 2017 to Wednesday 8 Feb 2017:

Confidence is very low in details as we head towards the end of the month and beginning of February. However, bands of rain and possibly some hill snow is likely to affect the north and northwest at first, whilst periods of more settled weather are expected in the south. This will continue to bring a risk of overnight frost and freezing fog. Temperatures are uncertain although slow changes between milder and colder conditions seem likely. Later, there is an increased preference for drier and colder weather to become established across the British Isles.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 17 Jan 2017 to Thursday 26 Jan 2017:

It will be largely cloudy through Tuesday with patchy rain in places but it should be drier towards the east. Whilst it will be fairly mild at first, colder air is expected to spread in across the country through Wednesday. Although it will also turn drier and sunnier for many, northwestern parts will remain cloudier and milder. Thereafter, many areas will be largely dry and fine with an increasing risk of frost and fog, with any rain and hill snow restricted to the northwest. It will feel very cold for many, especially in the east and south, with sleet or snow showers possible across eastern coastal parts. Towards the end of the period, southern areas are likely to stay largely dry whilst it could turn more unsettled in the north.

Based on this, I don't think the METO are keen on a Greenland High, "cloudy for most" would not indicate an Arctic airmass. Sounds a bit Bartletty to me.

UK Outlook for Friday 20 Jan 2017 to Sunday 29 Jan 2017:

The coming week is set to end with a continuation of high pressure dominating across the UK. The best of the sunshine is likely to be to the lee of higher ground in the north where it will also feel mild at times. The south-east will tend to be colder, leading to the risk of overnight frosts and fog. Into the last full week of January more unsettled conditions are likely to spread into the far north-west bringing some spells of rain at times. From this point onwards, though there is considerable uncertainty, the unsettled conditions are likely to spread south and east bringing less cold conditions to all and outbreaks of rain across the country.

UK Outlook for Monday 30 Jan 2017 to Monday 13 Feb 2017:

Looking ahead to the start of February the most likely scenario is that the Atlantic low pressure systems will bring spells of wet weather to all at times, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures associated with this would tend to be on the cold side, but lifted in association with weather fronts. However, there is a weak signal that an area of higher pressure will remain close to the UK, especially into the second week of February, which could give colder conditions for all with the return of overnight frost and patches of freezing fog.

UK Outlook for Saturday 21 Jan 2017 to Monday 30 Jan 2017:

The current week is set to end with a continuation of high pressure across the UK. The south east and central areas will tend to turn colder and brighter through the weekend, and this brings a risk of overnight frosts and fog. Into the next working week, more unsettled conditions are likely to spread into the far north and west which will bring some spells of rain at times here. The unsettled and at times windy conditions are likely to spread south and east through the week, which will bring milder conditions to all and outbreaks of rain at times across the country. The bulk of the rain is likely to be in the west.

Looking ahead to the start of February the most likely scenario is that Atlantic low pressure systems will bring spells of wet weather to all at times, though these will be interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures will generally be around average for this time of year, though it will turn milder again at times. However, there is possibility that an area of high pressure will become dominant again, especially into the second week of February, which could give colder, more settled conditions for all with the return of overnight frost and patches of freezing fog.

UK Outlook for Sunday 22 Jan 2017 to Tuesday 31 Jan 2017:

High pressure is likely to continue to dominate across the UK on Sunday, bringing rather cloudy skies across much of the north. However, southern counties will see generally colder and brighter conditions, though with a risk of frost and fog forming overnight too. Looking ahead into the next working week, more unsettled conditions may spread into the north and west which will bring some spells of rain at times here. The unsettled and at times windy conditions are likely to spread south and east through the week, which will bring milder conditions to most and outbreaks of rain at times across the country. The bulk of the rain is likely to be in the west.

UK Outlook for Monday 23 Jan 2017 to Wednesday 1 Feb 2017:

High pressure is likely to continue to dominate across the UK on Monday and Tuesday, with mostly dry and settled conditions expected, aside from in the far north-west where rain and strong winds are possible. Temperatures will be mostly either around average or a little colder. Looking further ahead, more unsettled conditions are expected to slowly spread further into the north and west bringing spells of rain and strong winds, although it will be more settled further south and east. The unsettled and at times windy conditions are expected to continue to slowly spread south and east through the period, eventually bringing milder conditions to most and outbreaks of rain at times across the country, this likely heavier further west and lighter and less frequent further east.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 24 Jan 2017 to Thursday 2 Feb 2017:

On Tuesday and Wednesday most places should be dry with sunny spells, although there is a risk of fog at times in the south. It will be windier in the west with outbreaks of rain gradually moving east. Temperatures will be quite cold for many, but milder later in the west. During the rest of the period, milder, unsettled conditions are expected to affect most of the country. Bands of rain will cross the country, interspersed with brighter, showery interludes. It will become windy with gales likely at times, especially in the north-west. The heaviest rain is likely in northern and western areas, with drier conditions in the south-east. Temperatures should be around average to mild, although there is a low chance of the south-east keeping colder than average conditions.
