UK Outlook for Wednesday 22 Oct 2014 to Friday 31 Oct 2014:

Wednesday will likely see a mixture of sunny spells and blustery showers across the country with the risk of thunderstorms in the east, and some showers falling as snow over the Scottish mountains. Temperatures will be slightly cooler than average. Winds remain strong, as with the past few days, making it feel colder. Through the rest of the period, there will be a generally westerly flow. This will probably give further unsettled conditions, with a mixture of sunshine and showers or longer spells of rain. Northwestern parts will be most unsettled, with the risk of further gales. The best of any prolonged drier and brighter conditions are most likely in the southeast where overnight fog is possible late on in the period. Temperatures are likely to be around normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 1 Nov 2014 to Saturday 15 Nov 2014:

Changeable conditions are likely to continue for many during the first half of November. During this period, the generally westerly flow is likely to bring spells of wet and windy weather, interspersed with drier intervals. These should mostly affect northern and western areas, but perhaps reaching other areas as well at times. However southern or southeastern areas will probably see more in the way of the drier and settled conditions later. These drier intervals will bring some sunshine at times, but also the risk of mist and fog developing overnight. Daytime temperatures are likely to be around average, although feeling cooler during any wet and windy spells.

UK Outlook for Thursday 23 Oct 2014 to Saturday 1 Nov 2014:

Thursday will be rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain or showers, the rain more likely across western and northwestern areas with the best of the drier conditions in the east. It remains breezy in the south, but windy in the north with the risk of gales at first. On Friday there could be heavy rain over central parts, perhaps with local gales. The northwest will likely continue to see blustery showers, perhaps wintry over Scotland. From the weekend high pressure is likely to gradually build from the southwest, creating a north south split with the drier and brighter conditions in the south, and the more unsettled conditions with outbreaks of rain and a risk of gales to the north, this continuing into November. Temperatures are likely to be near normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 1 Nov 2014 to Monday 10 Nov 2014:

The showers will initially affect coastal areas early in the mornings, before quickly pushing inland. It will also be rather windy, with the risk of gales in exposure. The showery theme will continue into the start of the new week. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent around northwestern coasts. Temperatures will generally be around normal, but perhaps slightly below in the north. Later in the week, a return to more unsettled weather looks most likely with spells of rain pushing across the country interspersed by brighter, showery and cooler days. A slight change in the wording, gone is the little above average temps. Still looking predominately dry for large parts of England and Wales, certainly different to this time last year when the Atlantic fired up and just couldn't stop giving.

UK Outlook for Friday 7 Nov 2014 to Sunday 16 Nov 2014:

On Friday a band of locally heavy rain should lie north-to-south across the UK moving very slowly eastwards through the day. Brighter, showery weather will likely then spread into the west, with some heavy, thundery showers possible. It should be fairly breezy, with localised gales, mainly over coasts. and the north. The band of rain will likely still be over eastern parts of the UK at first on Saturday before clearing with winds easing.
