Hahaha!...a revert to back where we were a week or so ago then, these chop and changing updates doesn't fill one with confidence

Including the Met Office themselves I suspect!

UK Outlook for Friday 16 Nov 2018 to Sunday 25 Nov 2018:

Friday and the weekend look mostly dry with variable, sometimes large amounts of cloud, with the brightest conditions likely to the north of high ground and possibly more generally across northern and north-eastern parts of the British Isles. Overnight mist and fog patches are possible, which could be slow to clear. The only exception will be western Scotland and perhaps parts of Northern Ireland which may see some wet and windy weather, chiefly at first. After a locally chilly start, daytime temperatures will again be mild. During the following week little change is expected to the weather. The far west and northwest could have some patchy rain, whilst the majority hold onto settled conditions. However, a general drop in temperature is forecast, with an increasing risk of night frost.

UK Outlook for Monday 26 Nov 2018 to Monday 10 Dec 2018:

This period is likely to begin with a continuation of the mainly dry conditions, with variable cloud and some sunshine, once morning fog patches clear. However, there will be an increasing chance of some more unsettled interludes developing, with showers or longer spells of rain spreading to many areas at times. Temperatures are likely to be below average overall, with a marked increase in the likelihood and extent of frosts. These colder conditions will be accompanied by an increased chance of snow, particularly for northern hills, during any spells of more unsettled weather.

That is a very interesting forecast and its screaming a PM flow to me longer term, perhaps GLosea is seeing this speculated Atlantic height rise afterall.

As ever you need to pick out certain slight changes. Today the important change is the use of the word ‘particularly’ in regards to snow over northern hills. That’s been added today, and to me increases the possibility of lowland snow

UK Outlook for Saturday 17 Nov 2018 to Monday 26 Nov 2018:

Both Saturday and Sunday look mostly dry with variable, sometimes large amounts of cloud, with the brightest conditions likely to the north of high ground and possibly more generally across northern and north-eastern parts of the British Isles. By Sunday some sunny breaks may also develop across the southeast. Under clearer skies, some overnight mist and fog patches are possible, which could be slow to clear. During the following week and into the last week of November, the generally dry but often cloudy conditions are likely to persist, with only the far west and northwest at risk of having any patchy rain. Temperatures will be above average at first, but will probably become rather cold later in the period, with an increasing risk of overnight frost.

You can sometimes go 4 or 5 days without any major changes to the wording on the 16 to 30 day one

Aye. Can you imagine what things would be like in here, if the Met were to revamp their forecast every time the T+384 flipped its lid?

UK Outlook for Sunday 18 Nov 2018 to Tuesday 27 Nov 2018:

Sunday should be dry and bright for most whilst Monday will probably become increasingly cloudy from the east. Temperatures will be close to average initially but it will be generally much colder from Monday onwards, especially in the south. During the rest of next week it will continue cold, especially in the south, often accompanied by stiff easterly winds. Night frost are likely and could become widespread at times. Although many places could stay dry, some showers or even longer spells of rain could affect parts of the south and east, perhaps with snow, mainly on higher ground. It should be brightest and driest in the northwest. Similar conditions will probably continue into the last week of November although it could become more unsettled from the west or south.

Yes and again the subtle change is the removal of the word hills. Now it’s just saying north. Slight change but a definite upgrade

UK Outlook for Monday 19 Nov 2018 to Wednesday 28 Nov 2018:

For much of next week it looks mostly cloudy with the best of the brighter spells in the west. Showers may affect eastern and some central areas, and these could turn wintry over hills. It will be cold, especially in the south, with this accentuated by the brisk wind. Night frosts are likely and could become widespread at times. Although many places should stay dry, some showers or even longer spells of rain could affect some southern and central areas, perhaps with hill snow. Similar conditions will probably continue into the following weekend and the last week of November although it could become more unsettled from the west or south. There's also a small chance that wintry showers may develop more widely across northern and eastern areas for a time.

For much of next week it looks mostly cloudy with the best of the brighter spells in the west. Showers are possible, mainly in the east, and these could turn wintry over hills. It will be cold, especially in the south, with this accentuated by the brisk wind. Night frosts are likely and could become widespread at times. Towards the end of the week there is a chance of outbreaks of rain and hill snow affecting many areas at times, particularly in the south. Similar conditions will probably continue into the following weekend and the last week of November. There is also an increasing chance of snow falling to lower levels towards the end of November, mainly in the north and east.

UK Outlook for Friday 30 Nov 2018 to Friday 14 Dec 2018:

This period is likely to begin with a continuation of cold conditions. The best of any sunshine is likely in the west with generally cloudier skies in the east. There is a continued chance of showers for all areas with snow over the hills, mainly in the east and north. More organised areas of rain and hill snow could affect many areas at times, and there is a low risk of snow to low levels.

Confidence is currently low towards the middle of December. However, there is an increased chance of less cold conditions arriving as weather systems moving in from the Atlantic.
